I’ve tried this restaurant twice since going g-f, once to dine in and once for the takeout roastie. For the roastie, I exchanged emails with the owner/chef to make sure the items were g-f and he assured me they were except for the included bread. Obviously this will depend on what is being served any particular night, but I chose a roastie that sounded like it would be naturally g-f.

While dining in, I talked quite a bit with the waiter about what to order and he checked with the chef on anything he wasn’t sure about. I felt fairly confident that given the expertise of the chef and the simplicity of the food, that I could eat here safely. I believe everything was safe and I had no reactions. The food is tasty and the service is wonderful.

The only thing I might change is for the restaurant to add g-f guidance to their menu, and for all the food to be served by the same waiter I had been communicating with (or the chef). Some restaurants are mindful of the chain of custody when there is a serious allergy, and make sure the same person brings the food with assurances that it is safe. At this restaurant, the food was delivered by a couple different staffers.

That said, I would not hesitate to eat here again.
