Review

I LOVE the vibe at Amateur Coffee and I’ve tried so hard to make the experience work but I get sick there almost every time.

I tried the waffles twice and got sick both times even though they said it’s a gf only waffle maker. I got SUPER sick when I tried a gf brownie from a nearby bakery (my fault). I thought I was safe with the 100% gf breakfast sandwich made in a totally different room but got sick again today. I wonder if they’re just not careful with the drinks? Maybe they’re too close to the pastry shelf in their tiny kitchen?

Anyway, if you have Celiac, steer clear!

Owner Response

Stacey — Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re so sorry you’ve had a few reactions.

I’d like to provide you with some information about our products. Our bottom two pastry shelves do contain gluten, however pretty much everything else on our menu is gluten free, including our drinks. We use dedicated tongs for gluten free items vs non-gluten free items. Our breakfast sandwiches are made by Veg.Edible, a 100% gluten free bakery, and we prepare our gluten free waffles at the parlor and have only ever made them gluten free. The brownie is made in a kitchen that also produces gluten pastries at Sweet Magnolia’s Bakeshop. If you would like further information, please send me an email and I’d be happy to help.
