I didn't have many options near the Tulum archaeological site, so we decided to try this place. I ordered the safest thing on the menu, the chicken tinga with rice and beans. The food itself was mediocre. Once I started eating it, I immediately tasted what I thought was soy sauce in the chicken. I convinced myself I was mistaken because... who would put soy sauce in Mexican food? Half an hour later as we were driving down the highway, I felt it. The unmistakable urgency cause by my own carelessness. The next few hours were agony as I hopped from one bathroom to the next while we waited for the ferry to Cozumel.

I urge you to stay away if you have Celiac's or a gluten allergy.
