I have been here probably 4 or 5 times total over the years, and am still baffled at how this place has such a high rating. Maybe there is a huge difference between the Ristorante and the Pizzeria, but my experience with take out orders at the pizzeria has not been good. Have had confusion about GF when asking questions on the phone, received non-GF rolls once, and have watched them cross-contaminate my order when packing it up. I was also very unimpressed with the couple items I have tried.
I was hesitant to leave a review because I’m *guessing* what happened was an accident but it’s tough to say because no one spoke to me about the incident. I felt very safe coming here and the waitress made me feel so comfortable telling me that they take caution and GF dining seriously for celiacs! The bread was GF, baked in the oven for safety & phenomenal but my meal unfortunately was not GF! I was on my second bite of pasta when the waitress came back took the pasta dish from me saying I need to take this over and over and took the fork out of my hand and ran away. She came out explained she had a panic attack and is worried that’s not gluten free.
It was a pretty messy situation. I had to calm her down. And was NOT comped for my meal and no apology was given!
I did get sick from this experience!
Great food several choices on the menu and multiple choices of pasta types including cheese filled tortoloni. Pasta made with quinoa instead of corn. Make reservations the place is small love in every bite.
Love Angelo's!! Food is amazing, consistent quality and genuinely, thoughtful specials, including gluten free!
Angelo now has a whole new Gluten Free menu and Bar Menu, and, as always, will accommodate just about any dish possible.
Everything at Angelo's is cooked to order, and Angelo and his staff are very aware of each ingredient and how this affects a customers needs. Great food, great staff, great place!!!! Go!!
Good selection, but the quality was disappointing. Pizza crust was not cooked on middle then when we asked for it to be cooked more, it was burnt. Food was delivered with 10+ min delay for the different members of party... Broccoli rabe was plain broccoli. Chicken in the chicken and broccoli rabe was undercooked. Very disappointed... Traveled a good distance to eat hear based on prior reviews.
This restaurant was recommended because the chefs daughter has celiac. I was able to order anything I wanted on the menu and it would me made gluten free. The host came over to ask if I wanted some gluten free rolls. Only he forgot to tell the brand new waitress they were for me. Instead she gave them to another table and guess what I got. Thank goodness my allergy is not severe although the stomach pains I encountered the rest of the night sure were. The main course was good but not delicious. If you do go just make sure you ask anyone who puts food on your table, if it's gluten free.
