I haven’t actually eaten here, because when I called ahead, they said they didn’t really have anything for me. The conversation was in 2020/2021, but basically they said they accommodated gf pre-pandemic but didn’t bring those menu items back post-pandemic. Not sure if anything has changed in the last few years, but their menu doesn’t seem to have much & their positive reviews are from 2019
No real GF options. I was offered a tofu bowl and assured it would be fine to eat. But I received my meal and found that it fried tofu, they mentioned the shared fryer without any concern. Cross-contamination risk is definitely an issue and there weren’t many alternatives. It’s a shame because the rest of my family really enjoys their food!
Celiac here. I let them know as soon as they came around for drink orders. Norman, our server, let me know the options available. To be honest, not too many, but what I had was fantastic! I had the Yuzo Shio, which he made sure was gluten free for me. He even asked if it was a “severe allergy” and I said yes. Noodles were substituted for white rice and gluten free (marinade free) veggies were served on the side. I also had an order of the charred edemame (gf as well and very good!).
Again, not too many options but what is gluten free is very good! It’s also BYO :)
I have a severe gluten intolerance AND dairy protein allergy, and these guys were great in explaining my options + I found their understanding and knowledge of their ingredients reassuring and impressive. I had their Yuzu Shio. They subbed the noodles with rice and it was delicious. Other gluten free items that I did not try included the edamame, shishito peppers, ani salad (with modifications), and rice bowl (with a sauce modification). I’m so happy there’s another place in town that I can enjoy with friends and family!
