My friends and I chose ANJU for brunch after reading, on their online frequently asked questions page, that they offered separate menus for gluten-free and vegetarian diners. After being seated, I requested a copy of the gluten-free menu. It took the server several minutes to locate a copy, instead producing an annotated version of the regular brunch menu. Unfortunately, only one dish—a salad—was available without modification; a lettuce-wrapped burger or noodle-free soup were my other options. While I appreciated that the server was trying to provide me with safe options, I ended up declining to order food, since the salad didn’t look appealing for brunch. I may return to ANJU for dinner, but I’ll be sure to stop in to obtain a copy of the dinner menu before I do so. Hopefully, there are more options available.
