I’ve been GF for 20 years and I’ve never had Thai food. I have been hesitant to try it because of the language barriers. Recently, I’ve been hearing more and more about how Thai food can often be gluten free. With encouragement from my nephew in Portland, and because the reviews at Anong are so good, I gave it a try. YUM! I had Pad-see-u and my husband had Mee Kao. The server understood my gluten free needs. However, another person did bring me out a bowl of their soup which I had read on this website, was not GF. When I chatted with her about that, she did tell me it was not GF and removed the soup. I will admit that there are still some language issues, I still felt safe. It was delicious.
I was hesitant to trust a little restaurant in small town Wyoming, but was glad I did! Our waitress was very knowledgeable and told me that eating any of the curries was not safe due to cross-contamination issues. She recommended I eat only the stir-fry entrees as each stir-fry dish is made in a clean wok and trying to explain Celiac disease to the kitchen staff is too complicated due to the language barrier. I ordered the cashew nut with salmon and did not get sick! The stir-fry was also very good. I will definitely be back if I ever pass through Rawlins again.
Wonderful! So happy to find this after reading about it on this app! Traveling thru rural Wyoming, I didn’t have much hope for finding a place I could eat dinner. The green curry was amazing and the waitress was very aware of gluten in their dishes telling me I couldn’t eat the soup they bring out to every one. Go here!!!
Thank god for this app. Was driving through and saw a billboard for this spot and looked at the app. It’s amazing for a Thai place in rural WY. We loved it so much we stopped on our drive back as well. I had the green curry with salmon and it was great. They were so nice about Celiac and made sure to specify when I picked it up that I couldn’t have what my boyfriend had ordered because it wasn’t GF. Stop by “Windswept Goods” shop across the street while you wait— great local boutique.
We’ve been here twice when we’ve driven across the country, and it’s such a nice unexpected surprise in Wyoming. They did a great job distancing people inside due to Covid. We ordered chicken pad Thai, green curry, and a rice noodle and veggie dish. And sweet mango rice for dessert. All gluten free and delicious.
Well worth the 6 min detour off Highway 80! My husband & I shared a Panang chicken curry and it was the perfect mix of spicy creamy coconut YUM!! And the portion was so big we couldn't finish it. I'm not usually a huge fan of Tai food - but this really hit the spot of a change from our road trip junk food!!
A very nice surprise. We asked and there were many choices for GF that they offered to prepare . We had the Spicy Thai fried rice with chicken.
This little restaurant was amazing! I never would have expected it in this small town. Service and food were great. I had a special that was beef and veggies served with rice. Flavorful and perfect! They had GF sauce and everything. My non-GF friends loved their food too! Highly recommend.
