Fantastic food!! this was some of the best gluten-free food I have ever had
Antonio’s is my go to for safe gluten free Italian and pizza! They completely understand gluten free and the food is safe AND tasty! Most items can be prepared gf, gf pasta is cooked separately and is safe, and the gf pizza is good. My husband enjoys their non-gf food as well!
They had several items on their menu marked gluten-free. Just about any dish was able to be made gluten-free. They have a separate kitchen space, and know to use freshwater to boil the noodles! I had the grilled chicken fettuccine. It was so amazing. I almost cried! It was a huge portion as well not a smaller portion because it's a gluten-free. Highly recommend!
Truly excellent pasta and pizza. Best we’ve found outside of Italy!
Ordered two gf pizzas (1 pepperoni and 1 pepperoni and mushrooms) for takeout late on a Friday night. Order was ready when I arrived and it was delicious. Nice crunchy crust with great sauce and cheese! It was expensive but exactly what we needed after a LONG day at the amusement park.
We ordered a pizza and pasta with homemade meatballs. The server was very knowledgeable about the gluten free options, and our dishes came out with a gluten-free labeled toothpick in each.
The pizza was amazing and the meatballs were excellent.
I can safely say this is the BEST GF pizza my daughter and I have ever had. We got takeout from here a couple of times on vacation. Also had the GF meatballs. Pizza is made in a separate place than the regular pizza. My only suggestion would be that they package the GF items separate from the non-GF. For example, we ordered garlic knots and GF meatballs, and both boxes were packaged in the bag together.
This is an owner-operated place. The owner is very knowledgeable. They had a variety of GF pasta AND GF meatballs! My Celiac daughter had GF penne with meatballs. It was great. My Celiac son had GF pepperoni pizza. They also have GF calamari. We had a big party and the only hiccup was the bill showed things as not GF that were supposed to be and GF that were not GF. I had a mini-panic attack at the end of our meal thinking that my kids ate gluten stuff, but the owner showed me the actually ticket used by the kitchen which showed everything correctly. And we had food leftover and verified that it was in fact GF. And no one got sick. But I'd definitely go here again. Food all tasted great too!
I am Italian and prior to my celiac disease diagnosis I made all my own bread and pasta. Big change since I was diagnosed in 2005 and everyone was clueless about gluten intolerance. ( including my doctors)When I eat gluten it’s similar to being seasick and having the flu all at the same time. So when I find such a wonderful restaurant with not only the knowledge I need but the absolutely BEST Italian food I am so grateful. They were so careful and prepared food that I usually have to make myself. What a blessing.
Excellent meal! Although there’s no gf menu, the staff was extremely knowledgeable about options, from pizza to entrées and extremely willing to accommodate. Cauliflower crust pizza was excellent and not burnt like many places. Thoroughly enjoyable, would not hesitate to return and recommend!
We were traveling and I found this place on the find me gluten free app. I did not see an option for gluten free chicken parm but hey did have gf ravioli and pasta options which I thought was great. I ordered pasta and sausage and specifies that the sausage had to be cooked gf as well and they seemed to do just what we asked. The pasta tasted great. Couldn’t even tell it was gf.
What a hidden gem! I don’t even know how to handle actual choices at a restaurant anymore. I am used to having 1-2 choices. I was torn between the great reviews on the pizza, ravioli, and chicken parm. But, there are so many choices!!! I went with the chicken parm. It was so good that I made my husband taste it to tell me if it was gluten free. I got nervous, it was too delicious. BUT, absolutely safe! I cannot wait to return and work my way through the menu!!!
This little restaurant is in a shopping plaza. About half of what was gluten free in the menu was listed. But other things that were gluten free or could be made gluten free weren’t listed. The waiter was incredibly knowledgeable so it was super easy. I had the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti and it was delicious. I felt very confident and comfortable with their procedures. They knew what they were doing in preparation. I didn’t get sick.
Fantastic! So many GF options and they are very experienced with cooking GF food. I had fried calamari (dedicated fryer) and penne and chicken pasta with a creamy vodka sauce. It was amazing . Its a small place and as I was leaving I thanked the owner for a great GF meal and he said they had been doing GF for many years.
Here in Williamsburg vacationing with family. I have Celiacs, so I am very apprehensive about eating out-especially far from home. I took a chance and ate at this establishment. I highly recommend them as they were very pleasant, understanding and knowledgeable. I was treated very well! I had the Calamari as an appetizer. They fry the gluten free food in a separate frying pan. I also had the Chicken Parmesan with Penne. The sauce was out of this world delicious! They even have a gluten free chocolate cake, but I was way to full to order it. Gosh, I wish we had a restaurant like this back home!!!
Great food! Staff knowledgeable about gf and cross contamination. Celiac child loved her dinner (salad and fettuccine Alfredo)
In town on vacation and chose this place based on other reviews here. It was amazing. Friday night around 8:00pm and not overly busy but very steady. When I asked if there was a separate gluten free menu the hostess very kindly told me that there wasn’t but they had gluten free pasta, pizza, and other items on the regular menu. She told me to make sure my server knew my restrictions and they would be able to help me. I confirmed the gluten free pasta is cooked in separate water and when I asked about the Alfredo sauce the waitress wasn’t sure, so she went to check for me. I was so excited when she said it was safe! Pasta was amazing and my non-gf dinner companions enjoyed their meals as well. Food was delicious and service was amazing! Very sensitive Celiac and I had no reactions at all.
Had the gluten free chicken parm. Was delicious!! Large helpings- definitely have leftovers for lunch. No side-effects whatsoever and I have a severe allergy. Owner oversaw the preparation of my meal, in a separate area of the kitchen. A first for me, to have homemade, fresh, gluten-free pasta!
We found Antonio’s after seeing positive reviews on this app. It’s a total hole in the wall but I’m really glad that we found Antonio’s. They offer gluten-free pizza and pasta - I had baked ziti. I’m normally not a fan of restaurant pasta but this was incredibly good. I had to ask if the pasta was truly gluten-free because it tasted so good.
The GF cheese ravioli was good. They also have GF bread crumbs for frying the calamari appetizer. Salad dressings are GF as well. However, they do not have GF bread to substitute the garlic bread that comes with all of the other pasta entrees. I was too full to try their GF chocolate cake. Staff is friendly and the place is cute. I wished the place was more authentically Italian.
We went here based solely on the reviews from here! SO glad we went. I opted for the gluten free pizza. It was very good, but I think Mellow Mushroom's gluten free pizza is better. Hubby had the scallops and shrimp in vodka sauce over pasta. He said it was fantastic. I kind of wished I had gotten that with gluten free pasta instead, but overall we were both very happy with our meals and would definitely recommend. It's kind of deceiving since it's a little place in a nondescript strip mall. You won't be disappointed.
There is NOTHING NOT TO LIKE here. Last week was my first time. The owner was VERY knowledgeable regarding celiac and precautions to prevent cross contamination. He only orders the BEST in Glutenfree products & even came to our table to check on things! (He has trained his people as well.) If this wasn't enough...the pizza was the ABSOLUTE BEST I have EVER had. No Joke! I have had NO issues and am calling an order in now 😁 Oh yes...The waitresses are SUPER friendly and attentive. Yu, the one in the pic is the best waitress I've had the pleasure to meet. This is one of the best kept secrets in Williamsburg. Nowhere have I eaten better. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
THE BEST GF ITALIAN in Williamsburg! Hands down. We are visiting from NYC where we know what good Italian food is. We went to another place yesterday that was not up to par. This place had amazing GF penne that we had with fettuccine Alfredo. Ordered a size of salmon rare, perfectly made. They don’t charge extra for the GF pasta. Better yet, they let us order the kid’s portion GF for my child, and she ordered a spaghetti and a ravioli kid’s portion. The kid’s portion was very generous. She was so happy.
We ordered the GF chocolate cake for dessert (is IYH the encouragement from another celiac diner who was a local) and it’s beyond amazing. Like a fudge wedge. Flourless chocolate cake.
Attentive service was of course a plus. The owner was there and we showered him with thanks. He said that he has a completely separate prep area for GF food. Delicious and safe.
