Delicious food! Our server made recommendations of what could be prepared gluten free. I am a sensitive celiac and had no issues.

Went to Apotek with our family when we were finally willing to pay Iceland prices for dining out, and WOW were we impressed and pleased!!! Staff was incredibly sensitive to celiac, everything we ate was amazing (no GF menu, but most can be made GF and the staff is excellent about checking everything with the chef) and they offered delicious options we had not considered and then loved. Please consider this place in your dining-out plans when in Reykjavik - you won't be disappointed!

NIMA tested and 2 out of of the three small plates we ordered were safe. I am a very sensitive Celiac. The scallops were one of the BEST things I have ever eaten! My husband agreed. The lobster tail and Tiger Prawns were also yummy! Unfortunately, the Arctic Char had gluten, but they handled it really well. If you are in Iceland, it is a MUST!

This is a high end place, yes Iceland is expensive. Get used to it. This place was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Checked with the chef on certain things. We had a wooden plank full of different meats, and some veggies sides and all were so delicious and safe! Didn’t get sick one time in Iceland!

On the menu nothing is labelled, but staff was willing to prepare anything for my 7yo. Unfortunately the french frise could not have been done gf, but the shrimp was delicious.

Absolutely wonderful meal. I was able to put celiac on my reservation when booking and they took immediate care as soon as I arrived. They explained everything on the menu that can be accommodated (most items!) and were very aware of celiac needs. Highly recommend the Icelandic lamb…if any variety. I got the lamb chops and it’s was the best I’ve ever had.

Very busy this time of year. We made reservations a couple of weeks in advance. Told them of celiac disease at the time we made the reservation and they were prepared for me upon arrival.
They can do over 90% of the menu with zero to minimal substitutions.
Food was excellent. Nima tested negative.
This is a great place to eat for celiacs and non-celiacs alike

The best meal we had in Iceland. They were knowledgeable about celiac and told me they could basically do anything on the menu gluten free. They even had a couple of desserts they were able to do GF. Had an excellent meal of lamb and a chocolate dessert. Highly recommend.

Had steak and broccolini. Waitress was excellent in informing me what I can and cannot have and the chef made accommodations. Had no reactions. Steak was out of this world!

This was the best meal we had our whole trip. We did the tasting and it was worth every penny. Most everything was GF, the mods were negligible if there were any. Definitely stop here for a fancy dinner!!

No GF menu and can't tell about cross contamination. Waitress appeared perhaps new ad every wisdom lead to get going back& talking to the kitchen, which I appreciated. Since I can't eat chicken nor white potatoes, and don't care for salmon, I was limited to the soup of the day, fish special(which I couldn't figure what kind of fish it ear as never heard of it) or plain hamburger at same price as with a bun and French fries. Oops for so which was a red pepper soup with pumpkin seeds. A bit doggy for my tastes but got used to it and lived the texture and seeds.
Fortunately us been to grocery store and had bread in the sack with me . And cheese, so so turned out well between the two. Companions enjoyed their meals. Fresh water is wonderful and plentiful.
Also had outdoor dining, this cool in August for that option

The server was very knowledgable and when we had questions went to the back to ask. They brought a loaf of bread to the table for starters but brought our celiac daughter fried potato chips, so she didn’t feel left out.

Excellent. Lots of options. Staff extremely diligent. I had the roasted cauliflower entree with roasted potatoes and carrots. They have a lovely GF dessert option, a deconstructed masterpiece!

Meal was fabulous and seafood prepared to perfection. Most all their meals can be prepared gluten free and they take extra care for celiac.
Yes
The staff is relatively knowledgeable. I've eaten there 6 times, and they every other time they seem to forget that I can't eat anything fried in the same oil that is used to fry something with gluten.
The desserts as well should be off limits for all coeliacs, the area where they make it is very small, according to the staff, and they use a lot of wheat flour, which goes everywhere. The staff might tell you the macarons are gf, but they are made in this space, so... no.
There's no problem eating there, if you got through the phase of asking about everything. The problem is that if you order a dish that has gluten in it, and they change it for you, they'll just remove the gluten part and not give you anything instead. Which sucks if the gluten part is soy sauce, and the dish becomes really bland.
Yes
Almost all of the dishes are naturally free from gluten, but we didn’t know that until the waitor told us. I ordered the chicken, and it was good but the dish was out of balance and the skin on the chicken was chewy, in addition to de beets being raw. Overpriced for what the dish actually should be worth in my opinion. Although the waitors were friendly and had a lot of knowledge about gluten. Another negative was the drinks. They did not make regular drinks and the drinks they did make requires a special taste.
Yes
One of the best meals we've had. The lamb was unbelievable, as was the gravlax and prawns. Exceptional service and very knowledgeable staff and chef. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!
