Review of Applebee's

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE CELIAC! we asked for a gf menu and they have an entire binder with all menu items listed and all common allergen ingredients checked off so I thought that would make it easier for my daughter to find something safe. However, upon questioning our server about the chicken wings and French fries (which are both indicated as GF on allergen menu), we were told they are cooked in the same fryers as breaded items. Found the fine print at the top of each page saying they cannot guarantee that items are gf because of preparation practices, including the use of common fryers. We asked to speak to the manager just to clarify. I pointed out that the menu states these items are gf but since they cook them in a common fryer they absolutely are not, so for someone with Celiac disease like my daughter that could cause her to become very ill and that the allergen menu is deceptive. He seemed to have no real concern or sympathy. We ended up not ordering anything for her because of the lack of understanding and preparation practices.
