They brought savory beignets to the table and said they were GF. I asked if they were in a shared fryer and the server said yes, so there is cross contact. Then the waiter came out and said “You can eat those.” I said “They’re in a shared fryer,” and he said “So, they’re made with chickpea flour; they’re gluten free.” At this point I explained about cross-contamination and from that point on they were more accommodating. They even brought out GF bread.
The food I had was AMAZING, but I felt like the waiter had been annoyed with me for my questions which is never a good feeling. Just look out for yourselves boldly!
Fantastic dining experience. As authentic as Italian food as you can get in the US. Great service, knowledgeable staff. No gluten free menu, but waitress walked me through everything. Almost the entire menu is naturally GF, including a large desert menu. They also offer GF pastas for any pasta dish. Everything was delicious and I did not get sick. Will 100% return. Highly recommend.
Fabulous fine dining experience. Most of the menu is GF with the exception of the pasta dishes (which you can sub in GF pasta). We had the duck and eggplant parmigiana…. So good. And all of the desserts were GF! Many options. We got the dark chocolate torte and it was hands down the best desert I’ve ever had. Really a great safe place to eat if you enjoy fine dining.
Aqua e Vino is not only a restaurant where someone could find gluten free Italian food from pasta to fish to meats and sides it is quite literally the best Italian food in Charlotte. Frankly it’s one of the best dining experiences in Charlotte. The owner/chef hires profession waiters and staff. His wife is celiac. When my wife bashfully (newly discovered gluten free allergy) asked about gluten free pasta, the chef came out and said put away your menus and made us a feast. I’m not gluten free and it was amazing for both of us. Desserts gluten free, delicious wines great European experience slow and relaxing. Two seatings per night and very popular so get reservation. Chef is such a nice and kind man and man can he cook
Perfect for date night! 80% of the menu is already gluten free. We enjoyed the charcuterie board, savory beignets, and marinated fish for appetizer. The risotto and eggplant parm were both incredible! They had many gluten free options for dessert. I got a chocolate hazelnut tart and espresso. All of the staff were very knowledgeable about cross contamination and the entire experience was incredible!
I had a great experience here, the server asked if it was an allergy or celiac and then brought out fried savory beignets which were made with chickpea flour, yummy! The tree way tomato risotto was also delicious. And for dessert MERINGATA - Vanilla Custurd, Sponge Cake, Citrus Italian meringue (DF-GF), also very delicious!
