Great collection of tasty handmade Arepas. Veggie and meat options. Cute casual and fast little Venezuelan spot in the University district.

Small kitchen raises risk for cross contamination as they also have empanadas and taquenos which are flour and fried.

I have eaten here many times, and never had a problem. they are fast, cheap, friendly, and delicious. I am also a vegetarian and very much disagree with the other review- first, there are two veg entree options on the menu, but also you can add or subtract toppings from any arepa. my meat-eating companions have always enjoyed themselves tremendously, and there are amazing (non-alcoholic) drinks and even GF dessert (an AMAZING flan!)

Arepas are gluten free, but there was some very minor cross-contamination, maybe from gloves or the grill, and as a result I had a mild reaction. I also found the only vegetarian option pretty unsatisfying. You may have better luck if you ask them to change gloves (though I did state that I had an allergy), and you'll definitely enjoy it here more if you eat meat!
