Absolutely love the food here. On the pricier side, but that makes sense given the location. The chicken caesar wrap is SO GOOD! definitely try that with the bone broth and a chocolate chip cookie😁
Highly recommend any of the salads as well as the brekkie plate.
I would skip the open-faced sandwiches. The bread is not great (compared to Mariposa, flour craft, and any gf grocery store bread) and is often soggy/thin. Otherwise love the menu.
My friend, who is severely celiac, got very sick here. They say all the food is gluten free, but that’s obviously not true. We looked up everything about this restaurant after she got sick and saw the review of some other person on this site who also got sick. They sell a lot of oats, so that’s probably why she got sick. Cross contamination. Watch out!!! For the not celiac’s, the food is good it just isn’t 100% gluten free.
We're a gluten free cafe located on Sacramento Street in Presidio Heights, known for our clean aesthetic and healthy vibe. We feature fresh organic produce delivered daily and organic pasture-raised meat from Marin Sun Farms, and cater to a variety of dietary needs. We are completely gluten-free, predominately dairy-free, and offer a variety of vegan and nut-free items as well. All of our menu items are scratch made daily, from our beautiful salads, to our amazing banana muffins, to our 48 hour slow-cooked bone broth. Our menu features fresh salads, open-faced sandwiches, soups, smoothies, and more.
Don’t go here if you’re sensitive to oats like I am. They serve granola, overnight oats and also use oat milk in their coffee. As a celiac who cannot tolerate oats I got sick here, there must have been cross contamination which is really disappointing because we dropped $85 for a meal just to get sick. Food is very overpriced.
Yes, it is safe and dedicated, which we desperately lack in this city. That fact alone is responsible for the stars in my review.
Will I likely eat here again out of desperation? Probably.
Will I be happy about it? Not likely.
I'd love to have my mind changed.
But after spending close to $45 dollars for an unsatisfying breakfast for one, I'm not eager to rush back.
I get that quality ingredients cost more and that there is overhead to running a business - but I've been beaten down slowly and gotten used to that based on having to buy $7-12 bread for the past decade and living in a high COL region. I don't easily get sticker shock, and am generally happy to pay the asked price for something.
Bottom line: My meal there just didn't justify the price. Even with extremely limited options for safe dining in the region, this place did not make the "purposefully seek out and return" list.
Maybe it was the day I visited, maybe my expectations were too high after reading several rave reviews.
The person working the register was a bit derisive to me when I asked a question about something, and ended up holding up their hand to "quiet" me and took an order from the lady behind me "because she knows what she wants". i was sort of snottily told to "hang on", and they took the order of the next person in line, then fulfilled a take out order.
Then I was waved forward (picture the iconic Sopranos scene where Carmella beckons her friend forward like a servant) and huffily asked if I was ready yet.
If I wasn't extremely hungry and hadn't just spent 30 minutes on the bus to get there, I might have left at that point. But the tank needed fuel and the amount of rave reviews this place had gave me the push to grin and bear it, and give them a chance to wow me with the substance.
And... The food felt so low-effort as to almost be offensive. Everything I was served was tepid at best and lacked flavor.
I had an "open faced sandwich" which was one slice of bread (which makes it a toast right? Sandwich denotes 2 slices but I digress), 2 slices of bacon, and an egg with a COMICAL amount of greens on it. We are talking massive handfuls of frissee that the actual "open faced breakfast sandwich" was completely hidden under. Like, okay, cool, a "bonus salad" that wasn't mentioned on the menu listing and hid the sad truth of the "sandwich" from immediate view.
The "side of roasted potatoes" was at most two small Yukon golds that had maybe heard a frying pan sizzling nearby, but were essentially just a steamed potato sliced up. No flavor.
A latte, which was passable (+1$ upcharge for alt milks which is... Standard for the area I guess)
I grabbed a rice krispie treat for the road as well, and sadly it was completely stale. Inedible. Which is a bit unforgivable as I was there within an hour of opening.
Excited to find As Quoted. My work takes me to this area quite frequently. I ordered the open face BLT adding Avocado and poached egg. The presentation on the plate was excellent. The gluten free bread was very tasty but I was expecting the bread to be more toasted. I’ll ask to see if they can find he next time I have the opportunity of eating lunch in the Presidio Heights neighborhood. I’m looking forward to trying the gluten free mochi waffles. Looks absolutely delicious. The chai latte I ordered with my sandwich was delicious. Most definitely a place I’ll be eating at once again.
Holy cow the food here is soooooo good! The muffin especially was amazing.
100% gluten free facility, had breakfast there many times and never an issue. We like it very much.
Fabulous meal - we had the avocado toast and each had separate toppings, I had poached egg, son had bacon and husband had salmon. Side of roasted potatoes and we all enjoyed oat lattes. For us with allergies, loved all of it delicious! Would go back any time. So glad we found it.
Gluten free bread here is delicious. The space is very bright and welcoming. I always make sure to stop by here whenever in San Fran and I have always enjoyed my visits. Staff are so sweet and accommodating as well. Avocado toast and green juice is a MUST!
