I went for teriyaki chicken last week and felt unwell. I wish I could test to confirm it was gluten but it sure seemed like it. What a bummer. This place used to be worth the drive from Seattle

Sadly no longer gluten free!!! So sad!

DO NOT COME HERE. They are under different ownership and no longer offer ANY gluten free options. Super disappointing as this was one of my favorite take out places.

Since the previous owner, who was celiac, sold this place it is NO LONGER gluten free.

Sadly no longer gf or celiac friendly. It used to be the old Korean lady that ran this place was celiac and took special interest in keeping things gluten free, but the new management doesn’t any longer. Smells good but can’t eat here.

Update:
This use to be my favourite restaurant, but now under new ownership it is no longer GF and the quality of the food has gone way down :(.
The owner is celiac and is very knowledgeable about gluten and cross contamination. The sweet and sour chicken and chicken fried rice are delicious.

This place no longer has a gluten free menu. Up until earlier this year, this was the best (only I'm aware of) gluten free teriyaki in the area. About a year ago, this place was under new management because the previous owner retired. The new owners kept the GF menu until around a month ago. Unfortunately they have since dropped it (supposedly due to supply chain issues) and I would recommend avoiding for anyone with even a gluten sensitivity.

UPDATED REVIEW:
NO LONGER CELIAC SAFE. The new owners have abandoned the gluten-free concept and this restaurant is no longer safe for those living with Celiac Disease or other gluten intolerances.
ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM 2018:
Wow! Teriyaki and Chinese food, almost all of which is gluten free! The owner is Celiac, so I trust that she knows how to avoid cross contamination with the few gluten-containing items on the menu.
I had the chicken teriyaki... The flavor of the sauce was different than any other teriyaki sauce I've had before, but it was good. Maybe a little too sweet, but good. Portion was nice for lunch.
I'll be back to try some of their Chinese options.

Finally-- great Asian food that is nearly all gluten free. My only regret is that I didn't find it earlier. Friendly owner and all meals are made to order. 7/7/22 Have not eaten there in a while, but recently saw a sign on the door that due to "supply issues " they no longer can provide gluten free options.

I used to love this place but after the new ownership changed things their quality went really downhill (they use the same mixed veggies for every dish now, and those veggies don't go well with any of the dishes, their food is very greasy now, etc). I got a really bad flare after the most recent time I got food there but wasn't sure it was related. Was going to try again today since I'm not in a flare but after reading the other reviews I'm now convinced it was from their food. This really sucks, they used to be a really good option for me.

Tasted great, but got sick almost immediately. I have celiac disease, and I really should have checked this app before trying the restaurant. Sounds like the new management doesn’t understand gf food prep. I ordered orange chicken and teriyaki chicken, which were both labeled gluten free, but I had a stomach ache on the way home. Full gluten reaction the next day and now my DH is flaring up.

Safe and friendly. About 2/3 the menu is GF and very clearly marked on the menu. They are very assuring that everything with gluten is prepared separately. We’ve eaten here several times and my husband with celiac has never gotten sick.

I used to love this place and it makes me really sad I can’t eat there anymore. They used to have over 50 gf items on the menu. Then there was a lot of inconsistency about what was or wasn’t gluten free. Last time I went there, about a week and a half ago, I asked the server if the General Tso’s was gf. They told me it was. I ordered it, I ate it, and I got sick. I wanted to call and ask them what the breading was or what was in the sauce, but the phone just rang and rang. I’m really upset. I loved Asiana Bistro and I used to go about once a week.

Due to new ownership, we no longer find this a safe place for our Celiac family members to eat. Our daughter was extremely sick after the last time we ate there.

Update Dec 2021: Unfortunately, it looks like the original owner sold the place. Currently experiencing a monster headache about 2 hrs after eating plain chicken teriyaki
April 2022: New staff definitely doesn't take precautions. NOT SAFE FOR CELIACS.

I have had so many great experiences here until today! I got so sick like I ate pure gluten! I then found out that there is a new owner and I don’t think they are educated on gluten free. I am so upset, I had to leave work early due to being glutened and so incredibly sick! Do not eat here if you have celiac!

I had eaten here at least 5 times before they changed the menu and updated everything. Things are labeled gluten free and the staff assured us the last couple times we went when the changes were starting, that everything was still safe and they took the same precautions. Well someone messed up or they have missed something, because I ate here Monday night and was horribly ill afterwards. My husband, who does not have celiac, shared all the food and he was fine so I know it was gluten. And I'm so upset because I love their food 😔 hoping it was a fluke and if I tell them next time they will be more careful!?? But I'm not brave enough to try again any time soon.

The woman who takes your order is the owner and she is the most delightful woman. She found out she had a gluten allergy and worked to make her recipes gluten free. Anything listed as gluten free, you can be positive it’s safe. And it’s the best gluten free teriyaki and bulgogi I’ve ever had.

Owner is celiac and so is her grandson. They are very knowledgeable.
Pretty much all of their items are gluten free. Items are clearly marked gluten free or not on menu. I had the kung pao and spicy chicken. Both were delicious. I’d definitely be back.
They’ve been around for 13 years and they really know what they’re doing.

This place is amazing. I've tried almost everything on their menu at this point. Not only is the food one of the best Asian fusion joints the greater Seattle area, (offering Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc) i have never once gotten sick. They even have gluten free Katsu and Yakisoba!!! I haven't had those dishes in years since my diagnosis. I'm one of those that gets severally I'll even with minor cross contamination and I've never felt sick. Please go support this place!! And enjoy yourself while you do. The cashew chicken, katsu, Yakisoba, and chicken with garlic sauce are my recommended dishes to try.
Yes
The food is made in the same kitchen as non-gluten free food, however I believe the owner of the restaurant who I’ve seen most times I went in has a gluten intolerance and is aware of proper handling for people with celiac and sensitivities
It was a treat to have gluten free teriyaki and other Asian cuisines because I haven’t been able to have it at most other places without risk of getting glutened. Most things are available gluten free with the exception of the gyoza and other fried items I think

I absolutely love this place The lady is so nice. I really missed teriyaki and it's always hits the spot. I'm in Seattle so I don't go over to Redmond very often but when I do I always try to hit them up
I absolutely love this place! Hadn’t had teriyaki in years. They have so many options. Lots of celiacs in here all the time. Awesome!

Amazing. It is regular Chinese food but gluten free! Tastes pretty good. I like how there is a combination of Chinese, Korean, Japanese dishes a true Asian fusion. We have been here twice and will be back for more.

No reaction and didn't get sick but the teriyaki chicken wasn't the best. The sauce tasted different, like almond based. The lady was super nice and helpful. The Mongolian beef was a much better dish.

My daughter and husband are both celiac. Their menu says they have 58 GF items I think!! They only have a few non GF options. They are very knowledgeable about celiac and Food allergies. We haven’t been able to eat Asian food for many years until we found this restaurant. The food was great, I highly recommend it!

Amazing to have so many GF options at an Asian food restaurant. We’re only in town a few days and we ate here twice just so we could try another dish after the first visit was so good. Highly recommend!

Ms Sue is a joy! She was very knowledgeable about what was gluten free, especially since she makes a majority of it! I had the teriyaki chicken breast. It was divine! My daughter had the egg drop soup. Sue made it to order. Highly recommend this place!

We were thrilled to discover that they have a huge gluten free menu. My daughter with Celiac loves the Mongolian beef - several times with no cross contamination issue.

My friends and I have been coming here for a long time. The owner is so friendly to us and is also a Celiac. It’s my favorite restaurant particularly because I know I can just order my food and not worry about something being cross contaminated.

I can’t give enough praise to this establishment. This is some of the best teriyaki, gluten-free or not, that I’ve found. They also have gluten-free katsu and it’s great!

The owner of Asiana Bistro is the sweetest, nicest lady ever -- food comes out fast and tastes incredible. More than half of the menu is GF, even the breaded chicken, which was impressive. Great for a quick, cheap takeout dinner.

Fast friendly tasty and gluten free. You need this. Try it out as soon as you can.

it is great to walk into an Asian restaurant and not have to worry about gluten. The vast majority of the food is automatically made gluten-free. The soy sauce on the table is gluten-free. There is a wide variety of very good food to choose from. not much in the way of atmosphere, but the food more than makes up for it.
