This is now my favorite gluten free Italian chain in the UK. The pizza was huge and tasted great and besides the usual ice creams and sorbets they had a couple of gf desserts, Chocolate Etna (contains milk) and chocolate and blood orange tart (vegan). I had the tart and it was delicious.
Service is a bit slow because a marker is placed on your table to show a diner with an allergy is present. All orders are routed to the head chef and checked by the manager.
They also had some booths along one side of the restaurant with plastic dividers if you are social distancing for COVID reasons.
We came in for dessert and cappuccino. I was very clear about having Celiac and they gave me a GF menu. I ordered a dessert trio and when it came out, there was a thin, waffle wafer on the plate. We asked if it was GF and the MANAGER who brought the plate out said "No, is just for decoration." WHY would you put anything that's not GF on the plate of someone who has already expressed that they have Celiac disease?? It was sitting on the plate right next to the sticker that said "Non - Gluten.
I truly do not understand these reviews! Had possibly the worst GF pizza ever. Store bought crust with absolutely tasteless toppings. My wife's gluten pizza was not much better other than a bit of oregano. I rarely complain on app but someone has to counter to the many 5 star ratings on this one.
Excellent meal at Ask Italian for myself & my teenager (we’re both Coeliac). We had pizza, pasta, side salad & and side of vegetables. Separate gluten free menu, order taken by manager, all our plates had “non - gluten” stickers. Everything was delicious. Particularly good GF pizza!
