Aubergine Restaurant

Fantastic food ! One of best restaurant in Bucharest.

Great food. I ate here several times. A few problems.

The first time we had a knowledgable waiter and everything went well. He even had the chef prepare a gf version of a desert for me. I was thrilled.

The second time and the third time we ate there the waiters were not knowledgable. The menu is on an ipad that filters foods for gf options. Do not trust this function. It is not reliable at all. For example, none of the pastas are gf but are not filtered out. I had ordered one and when it came i again asked if it was gf and was told the pasta was not! I had to order something else. The waiter took no responsibility for the menu listing, either and had no concern that people could get sick. Also, one waiter who initially tried to serve us had no idea what gf meant and told me things were not gf because they contained egg or dairy or meat.

The next time we came for dinner and i ordered a main dish in the gf filter. the waiter brought it. I was about to eat it when the waiter (same guy as one of the waiters at lunch who served us and knew i could only eat gf) said he did not think the mashed potato side was gf. I had to order something else again. The food is good but be careful.

I found this restaurant, thanks to the first and only review. I am the second reviewer. The gluten free menu was clear and concise. Th wait staff were friendly and helpful. I felt very safe. Loved the avocado mousse for dessert.

Lots of healthy food. The menu is on ipads, and you can give in your allergene(s) like gluten, so that you only get to see what is suitable for you. And that is still a lot!! Food is amazing, staff friendly and speaks good english.
