They have gluten free buns, though the waitress was not well informed about taking precautions at all. No dedicated fryer for fries.

The menu is difficult to interpret. Staff had some knowledge of gluten allergy issues. I ordered a turkey sandwich, the Udi’s bread was dry. My daughter ordered a salad and we specified no breading on the chicken, and it was served with toast on the salad.I am not having any reactions, but I would not go back

They were careful about cross contamination and helped me choose items that were gluten free. Fun little diner. Friendly staff. Not the most clean restaurant I have been to but the food was good.

I liked the bun; I think it was Franz...or at least very similar. Burger was tasty, bummer about the lack of a dedicated fryer for the fries...they looked good.
I ordered a burger with gluten free bun and chips. Would have preferred fries, but they don't have a dedicated fryer. The bun was a little too thick for my taste. It would have been more tolerable had the burger not been overcooked and dry. Overall it was just okay.

I recently visited Klamath Falls and packed all of my meals from home so I would have safe food. A friend suggested my husband and I join them at the Back 40 Cafe for lunch. I was planning to enjoy a beverage while my husband ate his lunch, but discovered they had gluten free bread and buns for sandwiches. I inquired with the waitstaff about their preparation methods and was satisfied enough to give it a shot. I had a burger and chips and it was by far the best burger I've ever eaten. The gluten free bun was even delicious and didn't crumble into a disgusting mess! No adverse reactions and we enjoyed it so much that we went back the same day for dinner. This restaurant was a gem and my only complaint is that it is too far away for me to visit more frequently!
