Symptomatic Celiac

Last night, I called ahead and asked if the had gluten free options and they said they had gf soy sauce so I could eat almost anything.

I go to the restaurant and asked if their pad see ew could be made gf and the waitress seemed unsure so I asked her to ask the chef and she happily asked the chef and came back with a, "yes, it can be made gf." I ate my delicious meal and was so happy with the service and taste. But when I got home I almost immediately threw everything up. I hadn't eaten anything else that day so I know it was this. I was pretty upset.

Today I called the restaurant to inform them that I got sick and had a good discussion about it. They seem pretty informed about celiac and have a lot of celiac customers. I went over cross contamination possibilities and stuff. He was super apologetic, but said he would try to find out what happened.

For that reason, I'm not giving the restaurant a bad rating. If you have celiac, use caution, but I honestly think he will try to make sure what happened. I may even go back there in a few months.
