Besides the fact that the food is dense (from gluten free flour overuse) and really isn’t great, I have an anaphylactic tree nut allergy, and most of the staff could not tell me what was nut free and which items contained almond flour. Bad, and unsafe, way to do business.
Comment from business owner Hi Abby - As we realize that not everyone will love our treats and we are surely ok with that, our staff are very well trained with how to deal with allergies. We do not use almond flour in any of goods, our flour base contains rice flours, sorghum, corn starch and tapioca flours. We have nuts in our facility, but use care with handling our allergens. When in doubt, we always ask sometime to err on the side of caution because their health is of the utmost importance. We have a very detailed chart of all our allergens at the bakery counter, just ask.
I cannot say enough good things about this place. I’m a regular. On the weekends, they have specials like various pop tarts, different savory pie slices, etc. They have holiday foods. Every day, they have a good selection of sweets. The people are nice and the atmosphere is wonderful. I take all my non celiac friends and they’ve become regulars with me.
Amazing, I drive an hour and a half to get their treats. Literally everything is delish and the coffee drinks make me feel like a normal person at a normal coffee shop. Zebra cakes, oatmeal clouds, spongies - all throwbacks to my childhood but gluten free. YOU CAN’T GO WRONG. They also have savory scones and frozen items to take home. It’s all 100% gluten free.
Gluten free paradise! Stopped here while on vacation. So many childhood favorites to choose from including their versions of the oatmeal creme pie, zebra cake, and ding dong. The coffee cake muffin was delicious! The staff member was also very friendly.
I have traveled this country far and wide, and love to try gluten-free foods everywhere. I would have to say that this is probably the best gluten-free baked goods I have had anywhere. And I mean that very earnestly. The only place that I have seen so far to rival it is a place in LA called Fonuts, but this place is a dedicated gluten-free facility which makes it way better. I tried five different pastries, I ate four of them in one day. They were all super moist and fluffy and everything a baked good should be, they really have the science of gluten-free baking down to a T. My favorite was this treat they had that looked like a Twinkie, the one I chose with some pumpkin spice flavored and it was so good. Carrot cake and poundcake were delicious also, my least favorite was the brownie. Not much in the way of savory options however. But if I lived in Columbus, I would have this ALL the time.
I've tried GF bakeries across the country and this is in my top two for sure (the other is cate & co in Napa, CA). Their donut muffins are one of the best things I've had since being diagnosed with celiac. The zebra cake and blonde brownie are also amazing. We bought some Twinkie and oatmeal cream pie cookies to take home. The owner couldn't have been nicer! Great place and worth a drive!
Thanks to this app, I found this bakery while staying in Columbus this weekend. My kids and I went two days in a row, it was that good! I have to eat gluten free, my kids usually do not like the taste of anything gluten free...they loved everything they tried here! Exceptional staff, very friendly! We will most definitely be back when visiting again! My favorites were the scones, my kids loved the cinnamon/sugar donuts and oatmeal cream pies. We also tried the lemon blueberry cake and brownie which were amazing as well!
Great gluten-free bakery! They even sell some of their products at the market on our street in the Short North which makes supplying my mom with gluten-free options even easier. I've tried their several of their cookies but would love to try some of their scones, cakes and pies, too.
