Sadly not safe for celiac. Yes they wipe down the press, but it’s just wiped. That doesn’t eliminate cross contamination. They assured me they also wipe down the counters and change gloves. I still got sick from a sandwich that wasn’t put on the press.
In my experience, unless the kitchen has a dedicated gf space, there’s not way to avoid tiny crumbs of bread.
However, I will be back again and again for the delicious lemonades and drinks plus the awesome goodies from Rise Bakery. Lovely place to stop.

Omg. SO GOOD. So fresh! I LOVE rise bakery but driving an hour into the city isn’t realistic on a regular basis. They’re super nice and helpful and the sandwiches are so good. Also love that I can get a chocolate croissant for the next morning. 😋
Rise Bakery provides their bread, croissants, brownies, cookies, and assorted pastries.
Great customer service, absolutely delicious sandwiches, lots of GF options, and they are very careful to clean everything before making my food.
Great gluten free sandwiches and paninis. Also have a gluten-free Nutella brownie, among other things. All of the above is made at Rise Bakery in DC
