I was excited to try this place after looking at their menu, and I'm not disappointed! The food was really good. I got the meatloaf, fried okra & jalapenos, and spicy greens, along with a jalapeno corn bread muffin. The greens were so good, even better than the ones I had in New Orleans, which is really saying something. The fryer is dedicated GF, so everything fried is safe.

I was diagnosed with celiac disease in October of 2020, and Bantam + Biddy is the only restaurant I’ve found that knows what celiac disease is and Maria your ticket. The food is DELICIOUS and there are so many options on the menu.

I have celiac and am lactose intolerant. I ordered the business lunch plate roasted chicken with fries. I loved it! I had no reaction. The server was very kind and knowledgeable. He was happy to accommodate.
I will be going here again to try their gluten free fried chicken strips. They can use oat milk instead of milk to batter the chicken. It sounds great!

Delicious food! You will not be disappointed. Kid and adult friendly, menu list what is gf, they have separate kitchen areas. By far best fried chicken ever!! Also dessert we all got gf salted caramel cake, huge slices. Updating because we went again this time for takeout! Was reassured that the frier is a DEDICATED fryer, nothing of gluten goes in it. You heard that, right! Chicken tenders are off the chain, fries are like fair fries, salads are beautiful even for take out. And dessert this time was Butter Pecan cake, and Lemon Blueberry cake (which I liked more). Manager was AWESOME even threw in 2 gf cookies for my kiddos, thanks! He took the time and was very knowledgeable about Celiacs and what was safe also mentioning that their stuffing waffles where gf. A+ facility wish we lived closer, but this is a family favorite! They go above and beyond, again thanks B&B

Not celiac friendly. Unavoidable cross contamination issues due biscuits made in-house from scratch. Went for brunch on a Saturday morning, at nearly every plate I saw had a dish with a biscuit or a waffle (also no gluten free). Too bad because their dinner/lunch menu is mostly gluten free aside from some buns.

Do not eat here if you have celiac! I tried this place twice and got sick twice. According to staff, the fryer is not dedicated, and the separate prep area is not used, and next to flour anyway. Staff is not trained in cross contamination prevention.
Not worth it. I would give one star if possible. The chicken is often undercooked and there is no way to get a truly nut free waffle.
This place is not safe for celiac.
Save your guts!

Their fryers are all dedicated gluten free, which means that anything that is fried is completely safe for celiacs. It’s so nice to be able to have French fries, sweet potato fries, fried chicken tenders, etc. at a restaurant. The fried Brussel sprouts are so crispy and delicious, their fried chicken family dinner is very crispy and tasty (though the sides were way too small the last time we got the family dinner), and their Friday night special of fried fish is also wonderful! The gluten free cornbread muffins look and taste so good that I almost didn’t believe they were gluten free. I have never had a reaction after eating here, and I’ve eaten here on many occasions. This place is really great for celiacs and other allergies, but bring your own honey mustard if that’s your preferred dipping sauce for fried chicken tenders, as they don’t have honey mustard for some reason.

This place had so much potential yet we weren't impressed. We went strictly because of my allergies. My bf who does not have a gluten allergy ended up sick. His food was just ok. As for myself I didn't not feel sick but the food was just ok. I was hoping for so much more!
Love this place! They have dedicated gluten free fryers. I can enjoy fried chicken, shrimp, and catfish. They have amazing gluten free cornbread muffins and pancakes. They are not dedicated gluten free, but my friend who is gluten-intolerant and I have never been cross-contaminated here.
Most of the menu is gluten free.
They are doing a great job dealing with COVID-19, including sanitizing tables and chairs after each customer.

So good! Had the shrimp po-boy with gluten free bread and it was so good! There are so many gluten free options. All my friends had different things and it was all SO GOOD! Can’t even tell it’s gluten free!
Yes
I got glutened here and it made my trip to the aquarium absolutely miserable. I don’t experience glutening frequently so it must have been pretty bad. The service was very friendly.
No
Not celiac friendly. The food is great but i have gotten sick eating there twice with just mashed potatoes and gf chicken strips.
No
Edit: having known someone who worked in the kitchen, I would be wary of eating here now.. it seems the staff who works in the evening are much less careful/aware of gluten and cross-contamination. Also, my sister has Celiac and the last time she ate here she was immediately sick.
This restaurant just opened and we've already been here multiple times. ALL of their fried food is GF, this includes chicken, fish, fries and so much more! they even serve GF jalapeno cheddar Cornbread with meals. The managers are super nice and very accommodating. The GF pancakes were so good I had to double check they weren't made with real flour! Very Celiac friendly restaurant
No
Fried chicken was the best I’ve had in 10 years of being GFree! No reaction which is the most important while eating away from home on vacation! Highly sensitive Celiac too so they were on point!
Yes
I’ve eaten here a few times without issue reviewing with the server to denote safe handling for Celiac. Service can be pretty slow/poor with errors in orders... Insist they denote Celiac on your ticket to be safe, but the fried chicken is awesome. Note that the granola is not confirmed GF for the yogurt, but everything else was okay as denoted.
Best fried chicken I’ve had since being diagnosed with celiac. It was DELICIOUS! Also didn’t get sick and I’m super sensitive!
Yes
There are several items listed as gluten-free on the menu, but you'll still need to specify safe handling. Service has been on the decline lately. Also, the kitchen seems to have lost a lot of quality, which makes me hesitate to trust in safe handling, now.
No
Very good food the fried chicken is very good. Great service everything can be made GF
Yes
Holy cow. I was in heaven. Fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, dedicated fryer. GF cake. I ate way too much. Love the power house and organic spinach salads--nutritious and hearty. The chicken tenders come with a wasabi-honey dipping sauce that is lovely drizzled over the fried green tomatoes. Quick service too--food comes out piping hot. The chef brought my husband another chicken tender because he thought the others were sort of small--who does that??? I wish there was one in Alaska. Wait, maybe not--I ate way too much and had a piece of cake each time. People without food allergies have no idea what it's like to be able to eat out without fear of getting sick. This place is so special.
Yes
Very good.. chicken was nice and juicy. Had a chicken sandwich and fries. Didnt get sick either which is a huge bonus.
Amazing fried chicken tenders, okra and whatever other fried southern food gluten free. And not greasy. Pancakes amazing too!
Excellent! The food and the service were fabulous. I ordered the chicken tenders, fries and fried brussel sprouts, my daughter ordered the vegetable plate (grits, cheesy mashed potatoes, quiona/spinach salad and sweet potato fries) it was all delicious. THEN: we ordered cake for later. I choose the coconut cake, she choose the salted caramel. Absolutely, everything your taste buds dream about! Highly recommend! Dedicated fryer, all breading GF.
Yes
The fried shrimp and chicken were yummy! But the gf coconut cake was Devine!!!!!!
Yes
Plenty of gluten free options including several fried foods. I had the fried chicken sandwich on GF bread, and french fries! All were very good! Also took home a piece of cake and it was quite tasty and moist! Will definitely return to try more options including breakfast!
Yes
The staff was knowledgeable, and the regular menu is marked with plenty of gluten-free options. Nearly all the fried dishes are safe because they’re made with a mixture of rice, tapioca, and potato flowers. I ordered the fried chicken strips with cheesy mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts, and I also shared an appetizer of fried green tomatoes with goat cheese. Everyone gets gluten-free jalapeño cornbread too! When the waitress gave me macaroni and cheese (not GF) instead of potatoes, she made sure to ask the manager if the food was safe. He got me a new plate on the spot, so they work hard to make sure that you don’t get sick. If you miss Southern comfort food while you’re in Chattanooga, this is a great spot.
Yes
Generally good selection of GF breakfast options. Had GF berry pancakes and potatoes.
Yes
Amazing food!! Fried chicken tenders, fried okra, fries... etc! So many gluten free options! The best fried chicken we have had since Celiac diagnosis!
Yes
Fried shrimp, fried chicken tenders, waffles, pancakes, jalapeño cornbread and so many yummy deserts- this place is a celiac haven. The waitress and cooks were all very attentive to our group of 3 celiac eaters. The food was AMAZING (huge portions) and even our non-gf family members were impressed. Get the chicken strips- they are better then gluten-filled chicken strips.
Go here go here go here. You will not be disappointed. ❤
Note- The waitress said everything they put into the fryer is GF.
Yes
Loved the GF chicken fingers and jalapeno corn bread! Good service. Would go back

Great atmosphere and food! We got the daily special and could not be happier. Got a chance to speak with the chef and he gave us some tips on how to better cook gluten free. Highly Recommend!!!
Yes
Great food!! Almost the entire menu was gluten free! They had things I hadn't had in years like fired green tomatoes. They also had an assortment of gluten free desserts.
Excellent food and service. Dedicated celiac friendly and gluten free items. Highly recommend this place!
Yes
Wonderful!! The staff was knowledgeable and it was a treat to have such a large variety of gluten free options! My faves were the fried green tomatoes and fries okra. The only thing that could make it better is if you could get fried fish all the time, but it is only a Friday special.
Food was delicious and staff was very knowledgeable about GF
All batter is gluten free and the fried food is incredible.
Yes
Wonderful place with wonderful food! Everything that is fried is gluten free! They have gf pancakes, chicken fingers, fries, and much more! Very knowledgeable staff!

A friend and I had breakfast at Bantam and Biddy this morning, and it was excellent! Everything is so fresh and prepared perfectly. A great, safe place for anyone that’s gluten sensitive or with celiac disease. Wide variety of options. Staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Couldn’t ask for a better experience!
Yes
So excited this place is in Chattanooga! Love that fried chicken is now an option again. Also, the sweet potato fries are delicious!
Yes
All fried foods are gluten free! They use rice flour so wheat flour is nowhere in the kitchen! My son was able to have fried chicken for the first time in years. Also, they had dessert!
Yes
Most everything fried is GF! Went for breakfast. They were able to use the GF pancake mix and make a huge Belgian waffle for chicken and waffles. The chicken tenders were amazing! Highly recommend for celiacs missing out on good southern cooking.
Yes
Absolutely phenomenal. Dedicated fryer. The fried chicken is so juicy & flavorful it's hard to believe it's gluten free. Menu is self explanatory and staff are well informed about their gluten free options. A definite must-try!
