This place is not safe for celiacs. It’s a shame, because they have a great menu for gluten-free. It’s also a beautiful place. Not only were they careless with gluten croutons on my salad, but two different plates on our table had long blond hairs on them.

I ordered a pork sandwich with a side salad. I asked for a gluten-free bun and a side salad with no croutons per instructions on the GF menu. When our dinners came, I noticed a few croutons in the salad. My guess is they just picked them out but left a few of the croutons in there (other plates had a lot more croutons). The waitress seemed embarrassed when I asked about the croutons and went for a new plate. She was not gone very long, so I figured they had simply taken the sandwich off and put it on a new plate with a different salad. I was going to go ahead and try it anyway because I was starving. But the giant hair sneaking its way across everything on the plate made me call for a manager. My friend was starving and had just taken several hairs off of her food because our meal had taken so long to arrive and she was so hungry.

The manager didn’t seem to see anything wrong with just taking the sandwich off and putting it on a new plate. He didn’t get that having croutons on the plate might’ve contaminated anything at all.

In the end the manager did a great job by having a a whole new plate made. He said he personally stood there the whole time to direct the meal preparation so it was gluten-free. But I don’t think I’d go back. They did comp two of the meals at our table that had the hairs on them.
