My aunt is GF and recommended this place, so we went with family while visiting the area. Delicious!! I got the rigatoni with smoked chicken added, which has an amazing sauce. The portions are large, so I easily made 2 meals out of it. The GF pasta doesn't contain egg, but the GF buns do. They use chickpea pasta. They have a lot of options marked GF! Definitely want to go back when I'm in the area again.

The brisket was very good. Had the mashed potatoes and broccoli on the side. Make sure to tell them to prepare it GF as they leave off the gluten-containing maple sauce.

Update: after many successful visits, I unfortunately got ill this weekend. Ordered a salad which I’ve had many times so suspect the staff let it’s guard down. Very disappointing because the Inn had been my go-to when visiting Walloon.

Absolutely wonderful! Just about every single thing is gluten free or can be made gluten free. Our daughter who is celiac was shocked that even the deserts were gluten free. She had the carrot cake and it was delicious.

Loved this place! Tons of GF options! We had the nachos (were just ok), salmon was really good, and a salad. Save room for dessert!! The chocolate chip cookie Sunday was delicious!!!

We come here every time we go skiing at Boyne Mt. They have the best GF corn bread which is HUGE+ when you always have to send the bread away. They have a huge GF selection that includes amazing drinks and desserts too!

Most items were marked GF. We had the nachos, Buffalo dip and wings. All are marked GF. wings are not safe for celiacs as they have a shared fryer. I did not have them. However the nachos barely had cheese and what was there was not really melted. It looked like they took the crumbs of a bag a dumped them on the plate. No full chips what so ever. Buffalo dip was just blah. Did not have a good flavor. I was told that the wings were tasty. I mean it’s an option but I didn’t love any of it!

After sharing with the server that I'm a celiac along with other allergies, she talked with the chef. He said that he could not safely serve me as cross contamination cannot be avoided in their kitchen. The rest of my party ate dinner and I ate nothing. We will never go back! The manager was notified of the situation and chose not to come and talk with me.

Great service, I had gf pasta with red sauce, all of their pastas are gf along with the pizzas and a great view of the lake. Definitely coming back soon.

My husband loved the gf chicken soup. It is difficult to get gluten free soup in a restaurant. He Also chose a gluten free hamburger as a steak is more readily available in other restaurants. Have gf pasta available as well.

Very cute restaurant on Walloon Lake. Beautiful view. Menu marks items that can be modified gluten free. GF pizza crust was not great but I would go back and order something else next time!!

Nearly the whole menu can be made gluten free! My meal was delicious - started with buffalo chicken dip to share and got chicken quesadilla (open faced) for my meal. The staff was knowledgeable and I felt confident eating here with celiac. I left feeling good and full. Stop here for 10/10 meal

Will say to be careful of the bread basket they bring to the table. Said the corn bread was gf but it was at the bottom of the basket under all the bread. Just had to laugh and move forward since the rest of the meal was so good.

Best #gf meal I think I've had in my 7 yrs as a Celiac. The staff was knowledgeable. They bring out cornbread to start. We had the Prime Rib and Italian Rigatoni which comes with linguini noodles. The pasta was fabulous and the mashed potatoes were to die for. They have a lot of options and even carrot cake for dessert. I cannot wait to go back.

Been here 3-4 times. Exceptional GF understanding and menu. DELICIOUS. Never felt like I compromised absolutely anything. So good. Run, don't walk!

Wide variety of GF options including GF French toast for breakfast. Had GF bruscetta, sausage pizza, both from similar handmade crust. Took home GF carrot cake....tastes amazing! Waitress Anne very knowledgeable and helpful. Not a dedicated fryer though.

Great choice for GF. They even have GF beer to go with the GF pizza, along with a lot of other GF entries. Get there at sunset and dinner will be an incredible light show.

This restaurant is truly awesome! We are here twice during our trip successfully with 2 people in our family having Celiac. The GF cornbread and carrot cake are absolutely delicious. Awesome GF pizza and fettuccine. The first time we are here, my only complaint was that the waitress didn't understand the menu and GF options. The items on the menu that are marked GF can be made GF.

Ambience and service were fantastic but we went because of the Gluten free options. They do wood fired pizzas and pasta dishes gluten free, have a gluten free roll to enjoy most of their sandwiches on, have multiple salads and have several nice dinners including locally caught whitefish & salmon and a very nice beef brisket that are all G.F. They also provide house baked corn bread for their G.F. guests and best of all have dessert options which include an amazing carrot cake. Can't say enough about our experience at this great restaurant. In the summer they are on the water for great views and have outdoor dining and in the winter guests sit around a roaring fire unless they are seated in the bar area. This was our first visit to Barrel Back and we look forward to going back very soon!
