Staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and double checked with the kitchen to make sure my meal was gluten free. They weren’t sure if the chips were fried in contaminated oil or not so I avoided them. The good was great!

I had the three taco plate- two pescado asado, grilled fish, no pico. One camaron asado, no pico. (No pico is just my preference). Everything was delicious and I felt great afterward. I did not eat the chips & salsa due to the chips sharing a fryer with the churros!

Great menu with lots of gluten free options! They aren’t marked directly, but the servers are very knowledgeable. Chips and salsa are GF as well.

Great unique Southwestern Mexican food. Ask servers to verify which entrees are gluten-free. For example, the carne asada is soaked in beer so server confirmed any of the dishes with it are NOT gluten-free.

This place is amazing! The food is very delicious and they are extremely mindful of food intolerances. I have celiac, but also cannot tolerate soy or dairy. This usually that limits my dining experience tremendously. Barrio Queen makes their own corn tortillas and chips that are fried in a dedicated fryer that's not soybean oil. It was wonderful to enjoy the best chips and salsa ever. Most Mexican restaurants use soy in everything. Their soup was out of this world and safe, another unusual occurance in the restaurant world. Their tacos are absolutely delicious and the aioli on the shrimp tacos wasn't made with mayo, so no soy there either. I felt so free to enjoy many delicious items. I have eaten here twice with no reaction and will be returning many times.

I eat here alot actually. The chips and salsa are so good! I always eat the berria tacos with rice I have never had a reaction. The servers are usually pretty knowledgable on what meals are safe for those of us who can not have gluten.

Barrio Queen management and kitchen staff please please please educate your staff on the different types of allergies. While our waiter was very nice, he fully admitted to not knowing what gluten was. I was very happy he was immediate to ask about allergies and inform the table that the dedicated fryer was down for the chips so they were cross contaminated for people with gluten allergies. The food is the reason this review is getting three stars instead of less. It was tasty and everything was served in corn tortillas. BUT...when asked to clarify the menu because there was no dedicated gluten sensitive menu or tags on the regular menu, the waiter went to the manager instead of the chef. Last time I checked, the chef is the expert of what is in the food, including hidden sources of gluten. Finally, what is happy about happy hour ending at 5pm? Nobody even gets off work before then, but I understand sometimes happy hour is used to draw people in during slower times. Overall, the experience was decent but not something to ride home about, or even leave this diner wanting to return unless some changes were made.

The waitress wasn’t sure about what items were gluten free, but she was able to bring out an allergen chart so I could double check that what I wanted to order was gluten free.
