Basin 141 Social Bar & Kitchen

Despite providing a menu with items marked with a “GF” symbol and a staff that seems fairly knowledgeable about cross contamination and gluten allergies, this was a very disappointing dining experience. Most items marked “GF” were not safe to eat (the mole sauce contains flour, fried items are prepared in a shared fryer, the kitchen substituted regular soy sauce in a marinade instead of using wheat-free Tamari soy sauce as they were supposed to). I was not glutened, but what looked like a fairly robust menu of gluten-free options got whittled down to just to the shredded chicken tacos and a garden salad by the time our server (who was very understanding and helpful) finished double-checking on our order with the kitchen. The food was then plated with chips from the shared fryer despite our server putting our order in as “a la carte,” requiring an additional delay as our food was remade. The manager comped part of our bill and the waitress was great, but I would recommend avoiding this restaurant entirely if you have a gluten allergy.
