Review of Bâtard

What an amazing surprise! I mentioned to the hostess upon entering that I was celiac and asked if there were appropriate items on the menu, and she said yes. Shortly after sitting down, the waitress brought me toasted bread and said it was gluten free. I had never even mentioned to the waiter that I needed gluten free food and I asked if it was toasted in the same toaster, and they said no, they have a separate toaster for gluten free. they took such care during each course to inform me what was safe and what was not and said even the things that we're not always gluten-free could be made gluten-free. I even ordered a hot buttered rum they knew that the butter mix was gluten free but they checked every other ingredient for me before bringing me the drink. when they brought my friends drink they even told me that was safe for me to try as well. It's not an inexpensive place, but if you are looking for a special evening out where you don't have to worry at all and can feel like a normal person, this is it the top of my list
