Great experience during a graduation party. 2 of 8 people had celiac. The waitress was knowledgeable and made everyone comfortable. There were two gluten free pizza crust options available and a wide variety of gluten free sauces and toppings to choose from. We highly recommend.
I love beau jos so much. They are Celiac Sprue association accredited and take good care to avoid cross contamination if you tell them specifically you have celiac. Most of their menu is gluten free (with the right pizza base). Loved this place before my diagnosis and am grateful for it still!
I got a gluten free pizza and asked about their precautions. Honestly, they didn’t seem very good. They said they’d change gloves and put a paper down on the surface where they made the pizza, but it goes into the same oven. I did get a little sick afterwards, so I suspect there was contamination on my pizza.
Update: I returned about a year later to give the establishment a second chance. I got a gluten free pizza and some gluten free garlic bread. My intestines indicate that something was not entirely gluten free. I say this as a not particularly sensitive celiac, so my assessment remains that it is not celiac-safe.
I ordered the GF cheesy garlic bread and the pesto chicken pizza with a GF crust. I have a gluten detection dog (she detects down to 1 part per million) and she gave me the all clear for everything! I was worried at first because it tasted too good to be gluten free! It’s delicious and the servers are very understanding and helpful with dietary restrictions!
Excellent. The menu is clearly marked not only with the GF options, but items are marked that cannot be ordered gluten-free. Staff totally knowledgeable. Clearly they are used to serving celiac‘s and gluten sensitive patrons. Had the gluten-free garlic cheese bread and a gluten-free pizza. Two choices for gluten-free pizza crust… Cauliflower or more traditional dough crust. I chose cauliflower. Excellent!
Stopped here on our way from white water rafting. Eating out is not always fun when I have food allergies. We had a part of 8 people and was sat in 20 minutes on a Saturday night. I was so happy to know they had a ton of gluten free, Dairy free and lots of non tomato pizza sauces. They even cook the gluten free pizza on a separate pan. The pizza was amazing. I had gluten free crust, garlic olive oil sauce, dairy free cheese, pepperoni and mushrooms. It took me 3 dats to finish the pizza. I only eat about 2 slices in a sitting. I’m guessing it’s a medium pizza. They have happy hour daily too. They also have gluten free cake. I did not get sick.
Beau Jo's has ramped up their celiac GF protocols. My server was knowledgeable and the menu is very specific about what is not GF. I felt safe eating here. Their pizza crust is excellent-- my partner says better than the regular wheat crust. I visited here after having a bad experience at Otto Pint and recommend this place as the only place in Ft Collins that I know of that reliably manages pizza prep and cross contamination.
Gf cheese bread was amazing! I've never met a pizza I wouldn't eat until this place. Much better gf pizza around the area. Service good.
extensive menu with tons of options for those with celiac. ordered the honey cheddar bread which was pretty strange; wouldn't recommend. the pizza was pretty good (udis crust) and the chicken tenders were decent. nothing special that we tried but no cross contamination and tons of options!
I'm so thankful for Beau Jo's. They have such yummy gluten free food options. Only place I know that I can get (great) gluten free bread sticks, gluten free chicken tenders, and great gf pizza. Their sandwiches can be made on gf bread (though they are pricy that way - but obviously worth it to be able to eat one!)
I have severe celiac disease (like don't-eat-products-manufactured-in-a-facility-with-wheat severe), have been eating here for years, and have never been glutened. They store all their gluten free ingredients separately, change their gloves, and all that jazz, but they do not have separate ovens, so ambient cross contamination is still a possibility. Over all, the pizzas are delicious and they take every precaution that a non-dedicated restaurant with only one kitchen can. If you are in Fort Collins and looking for a good sit-down place, this the one.
The best thing is the gf garlic cheese bread. I've never had that anywhere before! It was yummy and actually a bit fluffy. Made me nervous eating it because it was so bread-like. It was delicious and no reaction.
Great pizza. Crust is very similar to many if the gluten free pizzas you find now. Similar to Zee Pizza, Domino's and CPK. I like Zee better but that's not a Colorado Chain.
The pizza was great. At the top of what I've ever had. I started eating pizza again about two years ago.
Important side note. You are taking a risk here, as with any pizza place. The menu warns you too that there is flour around, probably in the air, lol.
But if you got that craving, Beau Jo's is worth the risk
Great Gf Pizza! Menu clearly marks the items they don't make gf. Endorsed by the Celiac group in Denver. Wednesday night is Gf night - $1 off gf beer, $3 house wine & a salad bar with every gf item ordered. The salad bar looks pretty safe - the only non-gf item was at the end in a separate container. They have several gf beers & ciders that vary.
Stopped here while driving up the mountain, a definite stop while visiting CO! Our server took us through their protocols, separate gloves, prep space and pizza is placed on parchment paper while cooking. Can get most anything GF (in fact so much is available GF the menu only labels items NOT safe which is minimal). I got the dude ranch pizza and a make your own with buffalo chicken. Food was really good, and the crust was actually pretty fluffy and not cardboard! didn’t get sick and definitely recommend (and gluten-eating friends will be very happy with there signature crust, make sure to use the honey).
The menu is clearly marked what items are GF. I was told they have a separate cooking area for GF and use different utensils, but use the same ingredients for the gluten and gf pizzas. I did request they change gloves and did not react to the gf pizza (I’m highly sensitive). It was super tasty and I’d go back!
