We ate there today and it was ok. The menu is clearly marked with GF items and server was knowledgeable. We had the burger - which was ok, the pad Thai had a burnt taste to it, the fries were really good.

This is a great restaurant! Celiacs are welcome! My waitress was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. She was willing to review anything with me and help me! My meal was fantastic and there are so many options from burgers to seafood! Great service and good prices! Just a little busy at dinner time very popular with travelers

Bernie’s was a great option to eat out for a gluten allergy! Our server, Caroline was very knowledgeable about cross contamination and made sure to accommodate our dietary needs. On the menu there are items listed to show what is gluten free. Although the restaurant doesn’t take reservations, there was a bit of a wait. It was definitely worth it! The steak and fries (which were cooked in a dedicated fryer) were delicious, and you can get the BBQ Salad gluten free by substituting the “crispy fried onion rings”. We will be revisiting!

We went here for dinner with a group. It was very busy and the manager told us (on the phone prior to coming) that they have a small kitchen, would be slammed, and not able to deal with any “special requests” but that their fries are in a dedicated fryer.

We packed food for two celiac kiddos and ordered fries to supplement. No issues with the fries but little disappointing - although appreciated his honesty.

Had the mahi sandwich without the bun. Servicing was generous and no issues. The butter rum coconut rice was to die for.

I have eaten safely at Barefoot Bernies many times in the OBX, and was happy to see this “brother” location up in Corolla! My waitress was very knowledgeable and the food was good! I got the St. Lucia chicken and it had a nice kick to it. I am very sensitive to cross contamination and did not get sick. I will be back on my next vaca.

I ordered the gluten free Greek pizza and it was the best gf pizza I’ve ever had! Crust was tasty, toppings were super yummy. Feta cheese belongs on every pizza! I’m in the outer banks for a week and will definitely be back. I did not get sick.

Excellent food. Menu was easy to navigate and clearly marked what was gf and not. Sandwich section said gf rolls available but make sure you read each item individually to make appropriate modifications. No dedicated fryer.
