Review of Betelnut

If there were negative stars I'd use that option as this was one of the worst GF dining experiences I've ever had. We asked about a GF menu and told they had one thou the hostess wasn't sure how safe their practices were. So in reality I was given fair warning by the hostess before being seated but I had a hungry (non GF) child with me and decided to take my chances. We were seated at the chef's counter and I had the opportunity to watch them make the food. It was HORRIFYING! The same pan was used for regular food and items from their gluten free menu. They have their floured meat in an open container next to the rest of the ingredients and at one point someone dropped the tongs that were covered in flour into their green beans (on the GF menu) and simply picked them up and put them back in the flour. Then as a cook was plating a dish that was not GF he dropped some of the noodles into the green beans, picked them up and plated them. Sadly I watched this after I had begun to eat my food. I stopped right away but am still sick three days later. There is NOTHING gluten free about their food. They should not have a menu that claims gluten free items if that is how they are cooked. This went beyond cross contamination and into the realm of normal everyday health hazards. Truly a nightmarish experience. Do not eat here if you have any gluten sensitivity at all.
