It depends on how busy it is and the employee scooping your gelato. Last year I only ever had good experiences. There was one time that they accidentally put the little pizzelle (cookie) on top, but then they scooped me an entirely new cup so everything was fine. Usually I'm able to ask them to change their gloves and use clean scoops, and I'm fine...but last week when I was there I had an older woman serving me who seemingly had NO clue what gluten was and clearly didn't want to bother with me because she just kept throwing excuses out when I asked her to go through the safety protocols. (She INSISTED that it would be useless to take any precautions, because they use the same ice cream machine for all of the flavors - even though they clean them between uses and the toppings typically get mixed in afterwards, as far as I know. She also got confused when I asked for the pistachio and hazelnut flavors because "they have nuts in them." π)
As the previous review stated, all of the flavors have their own scoops and allergen labels on the signs. However, there are obvious cross contamination risks due to the shared freezer space, as well as the waffle cones. Personally, I've never had any glutening issues yet, but if you're extra sensitive you might want to go somewhere else. (They're obnoxiously overpriced anyway. πΈπΈπΈ)
