The GF fried chicken was fine. The chicken itself was really flavorful and well cooked, but the breading didn’t have a lot of flavor and didn’t really satisfy the craving. The greens were pretty good.

I called before placing an order and they explained the chicken is prepared in another area and put on a sheet by itself in the oven. Very knowledgeable.

Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free. Just order a couple days in advance. They are a catering company and restaurant so they can accommodate anything but don’t expect it to be available without notice. On short notice, I got fried chicken and Coleslaw. Could not get fried okra, fried green tomatoes, and mashed potatoes and gravy.

Excellent fried chicken. It’s oven fried so don’t expect the same crunch but the flavor in the meat is perfect. Be prepared to wait. Fried chicken took 45min and some sides take 1-2 days notice.

I had the oven fried chicken, and it was DELICIOUS. Tried collard greens for the first time in my life, and was also impressed. Big Mama even came out and visited with my table later in my meal, to bring me samples of all the rest of her GF sides, so I'd know what I'd like for future ordering. Her staff did accidentally put a slice of cornbread on my plate, but she told me she did make GF cornbread at one time, but had to stop due to low demand and high waste. She also told me she's willing to make GF brownies, if you call a couple days in advance so she can make a pan; and she will then post on her website that she has GF brownies available until they sell out. I do have Celiac and did not get sick, even with the cornbread on my plate (it was not near my chicken thankfully!). Lovely meal and so awesome that Big Mama came out to chat with my table for so long about her passion for cooking.

Gluten free oven fried chicken, collard greens, and coleslaw. (cornbread is not GF but was placed on my plate by accident)

Unfortunately, I felt awful after eating here. I am all about supporting local, but I wish that every restaurant with a GF menu had staff trained in cross contamination. Wish Big Mamas the best of luck, but as a celiac, I won't be returning.
