I had a lovely experience at Bissell Brothers. Although, there are no safe beers there were some safe plates. I have symptomatic celiac disease and I was able to confer with the chef to get a few things that were gluten free and avoided cross contamination. The staff was prompt and very friendly. They referred to the chef when unable to answer questions and provided me with many answers and options. The environment at the expansion of BB in Portland is a great ambiance.

Agree with the first reviewer. I love the staff and the vibe and I am so happy they added other alcohol drink options for people that can’t drink beer. That being said, unfortunately the food is not safe. I took a sample of the “gf” wings and tested it with the Nima Partners sensor and the sensor confirmed that the wings had been cross contaminated with gluten in the fryer. I wish they had a dedicated gf fryer because their wings are amazing!!

First of all let me start by saying the staff at Bissell Brothers is great and they recently added a lot of great GF drink options (wine, cider, spritzers) and they just opened a new restaurant. Despite most things being marked as GF they are NOT Celiac safe. They are fine if you have an intolerance but they use a shared fryer which eliminates most of the menu (except salads). Still come for a good experience and good GF drink options but eat before.
