Fantastic gluten free options!! I celebrated my birthday by ordering calamari for an appetizer, gluten free bread, the rigatoni with short rib pasta, and cheesecake and tiramisu for dessert. They also have gluten free gin and bourbon! Delicious food and fantastic, knowledgeable staff - you know its good when you’re dining amongst the locals who have Celiac too.
My experience was terrible. Was only offered outdoor seating - in front of the construction - even though they weren't busy. Felt like I was looked at strangely. (Was it my T-shirt, jeans, and ballcap? Sorry, I came for your pizza. I figured that was appropriate attire.) Then after I was seated, brought a glass of water, and a menu, I was completely ignored. The server never came to even get a drink order. After ten minutes, I just left.
Perhaps my expectations are too high but my wife and I dined here last night due to the reviews on here. I found the food very mediocre and the GF pizza was not great. Maybe I’ve been spoilt by having so many light, fluffy and well made GF pizzas, this wasn’t one of them. I’m not aligned at all with the reviews on here. Service was pretty poor, staff looked bored and were not attentive and $100 for a salad, a pizza, a pasta and a bottle of water was way too expensive.
We enjoyed a lovely meal - 3 of us being celiac and experienced no ill effects afterwards! The waiters were extremely knowledgeable and explained how the food was safely prepared to avoid criss contamination and the food was delicious. We had the pretheatre menu and enjoyed arachini and meatballs to start and a delicious flatbread pizza with really tasty toppings. Would totally recommend
Can I give more than 5 stars? This place is amazing! The servers are well versed in gluten free and concern for cross contamination! They are very attentive too! Everything on the menu can be made gluten free, and it was all delicious! They even have gluten free bread with dipping oil, so nice to feel like a part of the table and not stick out not being able to enjoy some bread! The food is amazing, unfortunately we were so full, we were not able to have an opinion on desserts! We loved it so much, we went back for brunch before we left. Highly highly recommend this place!!
Went there for dinner with our celiac 11 year old. They were accommodating, asked about any other allergies at the table, and were so attentive and kind. They brought gf bread to the table before our meal; we had a couple of flatbread pizzas and a salad for our main course--so delicious and everything safe for our boy. All desserts were gf as well.
Delicious GF pizza, the crust tasted like regular crust. I was told everything on the menu could be made GF. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. They had no problem accommodating my other food allergy as well. Highly recommend this place.
BEST GLUTEN FREE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I have celiac disease, found this restaurant while on a weekend NYC trip and went for brunch. Entire menu can be done gluten free. DELICIOUS gf bread was brought to the table. I got the breakfast sandwich with fries, probably the best meal I’ve had in my ten years of dealing with celiac disease. Wish I could give this place ten stars!!
A gem! This fine dining Italian restaurant is basically a gluten-free restaurant, which they don’t advertise as gluten-free. Everything on their only menu, they say “can be made gluten-free,“ but I later found out after visiting the place every day for four days, that it’s really a gluten-free restaurant with the exception of gluten bread, which they purchase. The food and service was great.
Came to Bistango for the first time December 2018 and Nima tested everything I ordered and it all tested gluten free. I was so excited that I got theater tickets reserved a room at the Kimberly intending to have dinner upon arrival and breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately, this time around, most items tested gluten found. I did inform the server that I have celiac disease and I did note it in my online reservation. The server apologized but didn't seem to take it seriously that there must be something different going on in the kitchen and that the food did actually contain gluten. That being said, my "normal" night out turned out to be another expensive celiac disaster. I am giving it one star because of the gluten found. If you are not celiac, this is a nice restaurant and the food is good as my husband was able to eat. The hotel is clean and a great price point and the bar, Upstairs, is also very nice.
Excellent Italian food, and everything on the menu could be made gluten free with no cross-contamination! I never felt like I was missing out - they even brought GF bread with the usual chickpea spread and olive oil, and it was delicious! We shared grilled octopus, marinated mushrooms, lobster ravioli and pappardelle, and had the tiramisu for dessert, and everything was wonderful. The server was very aware of celiac and took care to explain that everything was gluten-free. Great date spot and relatively reasonably priced (bill for all of the above was a bit over $100). Highly recommend! :)
Fantastic! Very knowledgeable staff and so much choice Anything on the menu, savoury and dessert is gluten free, this meant I could try my family's choices as well Gluten free beers and a cider available. If you get a chance you've got to try this place I had the deep fried rice balls, hubby had meatballs all forms and son had flat bread margarita. Oh and..... GF dessert, Titanium and Chocolate Lava Cake
Amazing food, the whole menu could be made gluten free! They brought me gluten free bread with oil and humus! I often am disappointed when my family get to eat the bread and I can’t, but not this time😊. The waiters are knowledgable, the pasta is fresh, the flavours are amazing. I ate the fig and speck flatbread which was delicious. They have gluten free beers and cider and to top off a great meal the desserts are all gluten free. I would highly recommend this place!
