They do not seem to understand gluten free well. Ordered the mussel appetizer which was marked gluten free and it came out with crostini. Unfortunately, I did not confirm it was gluten free bread before I ate the mussels and unfortunately I did get glutened. The waitress confirmed the bread was regular and I could just not eat it and didn't seem to understand that the sauce it was sitting in and all the mussels were all contaminated as a result. That being said the salmon and ribeye that my husband got that were both marked gf were both very good and I did well with both of those. The flourless chocolate cake was the consistency of fudge but tasted very good.

They do seem to be careful at noting that my order must be GF. I’ve found that the food quality is inconsistent. They’re in a tough business with a labor pool that requires a lot from an owner. My impression is that they are spread too thin and the quality is suffering as a result.
Felt safe and very accommodating for gluten free dining, but unfortunately food did not live up to the hype. Salmon was very fishy and the lobster risotto was a tad crunchy. :( also if you have kids just know they don’t offer a kids menu and aren’t very friendly with substitutions on entrees.
I’m a very sensitive celiac and had a wonderful experience here. Waitress was very knowledgeable about gluten-containing items. Had a delicious meal of pecan crusted trout, Swiss chard, and pimento cheese grits. Had a flourless chocolate torte for dessert! Great experience!
Yes
1st: I’m not Celiac; gluten sensitive. The Bistro has GF & Vegan options in a rural area of western NC. It’s a nice sit-down restaurant with a stylish ambiance and good service.
