Bistro Casanova

This place was so good. We got the gluten free pasta with clam sauce and gf pasta with meat sauce. My daughter and I both enjoyed our dishes. My son got their pepperoni pizza and my husband got the carbonara pasta. Everyone loved their meals. We’re thankful our friend from Maui recommended this place to us. They even have a gluten free chocolate mousse cake for my daughter. She absolutely loved it. No bad reactions from myself or my daughter after eating. Great dining experience. Perfect birthday dinner for my daughter.

Gf pasta was amazing, really tasty. I had the one with bacon and cream sauce. However, be careful and ask about sauces, they are not all gluten free. I wanted to get the alfredo sauce but asked the waitress to make sure it's safe. It's not, they use a roux (regular flour) to make it. They have a flourless chocolate mousse that was just ok, nothing great, but still nice to he able to get cake. I was reassured that my pasta would be boiled in a separate clean pot. They really took the time to answer my questions. I felt safe. Extra 4$ for gf pasta

So wonderful! This was a huge win for us! We split a a Salad and it was delicious and then ordered both of our meals with the gf homemade pasta. Both of our meals were perfectly prepared. We finished the night with a flourless chocolate mousse cake which was so wonderful that I decided to double check that it was indeed gf! The service matched in excellence. We only have a few nights left, and would consider going here again it was that good!

After a lot of research we decided to try this restaurant and I’m SO GLAD WE DID!!! They were so knowledgeable, so accommodating, and so wonderful. I’m forever grateful for our server Malei (spelling unknown) and her willingness to make this dinner work for my family and my two celiac 7 year olds.

While the pasta claims to be gluten free (I now see a review below which says they cook it in the same water) the staff don’t seem to have a great awareness of celiac disease. We ordered mussels for the entree (after having a gluten free conversation with the waiter) and it arrived with bread on top. When we pointed this out the waiter asked if it would be a problem. My celiac partner assured him he couldn’t eat it, so the waiter took it away and said he would have it remade. Funnily enough, they were able to bring it back about 60 seconds later. That sure was fast to remake.

When I asked about the GF pasta, the server told me they cooked it in the same water as the the regular pasta. The second time I went (work meeting - I wasn't ever planning to go back), I asked the same question and got the same answer. I asked to speak with the chef for clarification and the manager told me she wouldn't let him/her on the floor. I drank water.

No gf menu but they were accommodating with adjustments. Gf pasta was available. The food and service and atmosphere was very good.
