The menu is now almost totally gluten free but a three course meal with two drinks cost $100

Having said that it was delightful

I ordered the shrimp Poutine for a starter, the chicken breast for main and the poor man's pudding for dessert

I left very full but with no reaction

They were very clued up about celiac disease

Une expérience mémorable au Bistro Hortus! Non seulement la nourriture est succulente, mais le personnel est attentionné et s'assure qu'il n'y ait pas de risques en lien avec mon choix de repas. Par exemple, étant diagnostiquée depuis peu, je dois éviter de consommer de l'avoine ( même SG). La serveuse s'est assurée à deux reprises de questionner la cuisine pour m'assurer une expérience agréable et surtout sécuritaire. À savoir que tout leur menu est sans gluten. J'ai pu manger la soupe à l'oignon avec un poutine au boeuf effiloché. Mon copain a pris le burger Hortus. Ce fut appréciée de pouvoir manger sans vivre le stress de la contamination croisée. Je recommande +++

Fantastic food and fantastic service. Everything is gluten free which is great for someone with celiac disease traveling. I got the poutine and my husband got the Quebecer for brunch and both were incredible.

Cet hiver, j’y suis allée pour la première fois mais ce ne sera pas la dernière. Tout était absolument délicieux! J’y ai mangé une soupe à l’oignon décomposée, une assiette à partager « Fou du bio » accompagné du délicieux pain de la boulangerie « Citron confit de Rimouski ». Miam! Pour dessert, j’ai opté pour le pouding chômeur qui vaut à lui seul le détour!

So many GF options and everything was delicious! Would recommend to anyone visiting! We had the bread basket with oat bread and cranberry bread. The poor man's pudding (caramel cake with maple ice cream on top) was the perfect way to end the meal.

Amazing! The food was delicious and creative. There were many gluten free choices - all marked clearly on the menu. There were even 4 dessert choices!

I am known for the salads I make. I had the Chevrotiere Salad which was incredible - full of veggies, cheese and a delicious salad dressing. It was topped with gluten free cranberry bread and goat cheese. My husband, who is not gluten free, had the Vegetable Pot Au Feu, which is gluten free, and loved it.

The restaurant is beautiful and very cool. The waitstaff was fun and wonderful. They use locally sourced organic food.

They even allowed me to buy a few pieces of the cranberry bread to take with me.

We are going back to the Hortus Bistro before we leave Quebec. I wish we had one of these restaurants near me 😊

Delicious meal! My husband and I shared three items on the menu. I have celiac and he is vegetarian and we both left very happy! Loved the farm to table approach, and the fact that they only offer gluten free bread, which was delicious! Will definitely return on our next trip!

I live in Québec and I am celiac. The brunches here are fabulous, there is a dedicated gluten free fryer and the sous-chef has celiac disease, so everything is doubled checked. The burgers are good and the fries are great!

Absolutely amazing food, atmosphere, and service! All gluten free items were clearly marked on the menu and there were MANY to choose from! I also love their emphasis on local sources as much as possible. They even use their own honey from their rooftop dwelling bees! Highly recommend! This was by far our best meal while visiting Quebec! The food was absolutely delicious!

I have never written a review before, but felt I had to speak up. I had the most amazing brunch here with friends yesterday. There are a lot of gfree options on the menu. My husband and I ordered and shared two items, the omelette and the poutine. Breakfast came with gfree toast, butter and jam, a little pot of mango yogurt and gfree granola, it was served with a family style, shareable, pot of mini potatoes and a mini pot of fruit. The tea and coffee were served with warmed milk. The food we ordered was delicious! I preferred the omelette with bacon, mixed green salad and roasted vegetables. My husband preferred the poutine- mini potatoes (not french fries) loaded with gorgeous, stick-to-your-ribs toppings. The service was wonderful. All of our friends were raving about the beautiful taste, the gorgeous colors on each plate, full bellies, and the little taste of honey (fresh off the comb) on our way out. I was so happy to gather such tasty fuel for our day of 20k steps (and lots of hills and stairs) without any sneaky gluten interruptions.
