Tested safe with Nima Sensor for GF pizza and GF pizza cookie. Marcus is very knowledgeable about cross contamination. Recommend. Went back another day with another successful GF test with Nima
I have been many times and I have never had any problems with their pizzas. They are always careful, and the pizza is great!!! I would definitely recommend.
Our family just had dinner here today, and I have to say the service was excellent. I called ahead this morning to ask questions about their handling of GF orders for those with Celiac, and David, the kitchen manager, told me they prepare all GF orders separately with dedicated equipment. (I didn't ask about a dedicated fryer since my daughter wanted the GF pizza.) David also said that they have one person who prepares the GF food in a separate location, and they will open new packages of pizza toppings to avoid cross-contamination. He also said that though they don't have vegan cheese for those with dairy allergies, we are welcome to bring our own and let him know when we arrive, and he'd be happy to put it on the pizza for us. I didn't worry about that, either, since my daughter doesn't like the vegan cheese my husband and I use. But it's really nice to know about that for the future. The GF pizza was brought out separately from the rest of the food and was delicious. I myself ordered the turkey burger with the side salad. I am not gluten free like my daughter but I am dairy free, so I couldn't have any cheese on it, or butter on the bun. David came out to our table and informed me that the bun itself had dairy in it, so when my order came, there was no bun at all. I was so impressed! The meal was delicious and I can be certain that my family can eat here safely with no worries about getting sick afterward. David was very helpful and so was the wait staff. I highly recommend this restaurant and will certainly come here again.
Good GF pizza. The GF pizzookie is a nice touch.
Ask for Marcus when you go there. He's the most knowledgeable about GF. Never been glutened. I've eaten there at least 50 times in two years.
They have the best gf pizza n cookie!!
Gluten free pizza, gluten free pizookie is outstanding
love their GF pizza & GF pizookie (dessert)! i get pizza with their 100% sheeps milk feta ~ yum!
thank god for your gf pizza
Fernando went out of his way to make sure I didn’t get sick. 5 star service!
Ordered what the server said was gluten free (shrimp and quinoa meal), quinoa came out uncooked and there were spices on the shrimp. Sick 30 mins later. CC nightmare!
They will give you a gluten free menu if you ask, 2 to 3 pages, then the rest tells of what is in everything for allergy reasons. I have been diagnosed with celiac disease and I am going through chemotherapy. I ate a gluten free chicken dish, and a gluten free salad that tasted good. I had a rash and a stomach ache the next day but that could be from chemotherapy, so I am rating this unsure for know. Disappointing the half price pizza Monday does not include their gluten free pizzas which are 10 inches and cost $17.50 for chicken and mushroom.
This place was awesome! They made sure to check with the manager and the cooking staff about the food for us. The waiter was awesome as well he went over the gf menu and was able to put in comments so the kitchen staff would know to be careful. Would definitely go back ! 😊
I eat the gf cheese and/or pepperoni pizza ALL the time- & it is my favorite tasting gf pizza. Note your “allergy” for the server to add to your order, to alert the kitchen to use extra caution and change gloves. They are aware. They use separate pans and extra precaution paper for the gf pizza. And the gf pizookie always comes out in a dark pan (not a silver one-like all others)! Order with a peachberry iced tea and you’re in for a treat!(:
I've eaten at this location a couple of times, and haven't gotten sick, I did however get sick at this last visit and honestly it's my own fault for not reading the gluten free menu very carefully. I ordered the Fresh Atlantic Salmon with mashed potatoes instead of rice pilaf- which if you read the GF menu it says to remove the rice pilaf and also remove the lemon Chardonnay butter sauce... I forgot to mention this so it had the sauce- good God was it delicious- and exactly on schedule - blam. I didn't figure it out until I got home and re-read the GF menu. Always mention those caveats to the waitstaff- never assume. Other than that, every meal I've had at BJ's has been fabulous.
Their GF pizza was great! I got their pizza with three different types of pepperoni and added roasted garlic. I also ordered online and specified allergy in the comments and when I got there to pick it up I double checked that they used a separate cutter and everything and they did, and allergy was marked on the box.
Staff was very helpful, however it didn’t matter how many questions were asked. Things are marked on the menu as GF but we’re not (Derby Cobb comes with blue cheese). Blue cheese dressing was also marked as GF in the allergy menu, doubt it actually is. We were assured that the pizza had it’s own tray, and the kitchen was notified of the allergy, but it still resulted in early morning vomiting and weeks of illness. Fryer is shared with fried chicken and other wheat products. Supposedly a gluten free burger would come with fries if we didn’t ask. Second star is definitely only because of our waiter.
Not the most options I've ever seen, but when I called ahead the chef told me they use separate dishes and utensils for GF orders as well as ingredients from fresh, unopened containers. Ordered a great personal pizza and pizzookie and felt fine afterwards!
Waitress explained her child is celiac, so she went out of her to way to ensure my dinner was completely gluten free. My meal took a lot longer than my families.
Wait staff were knowledge of celiac and cross contamination risks. They advised me of their procedures, they have a separate part of the kitchen gluten free food is prepared and have procedures to use clean gloves and separate utensils. Separate gluten free menu. Fries were a no go due to shared fryers. I had salmon with mashed potato and my 9 year old had gluten free pizza and the gluten free chocolate chip pizookie. Everything was delicious and we had nil issues later.
Kids loved the gluten free pizza and gluten free chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream, no reaction. Server understood Celiac disease.
Dining out with 3 celiacs is always an adventure. We found this place along our route for a road trip and were pleasantly surprised. Good menu, friendly service and none of us got ill. That makes for a big win in our books. The icing on the cake was a gluten free “pazookie”- warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. Yum! We rarely get dessert out so it really was five stars for us. The one gluten-eater among us also enjoyed his meal!
My husband and I have been to several BJ locations, in multiple states, and always encounter the same problems. The menu has reasonable options for gluten free, but the service is horrendous. Dinner with ordering water and two salads should not take over an hour and a half. The waiters and waitresses never come to check on us, so if you don't get it with your meal, don't expect to get it at all. We have desperately wanted to enjoy this restaurant chain and have decided now, after many bad experiences, that we won't be returning.
Knowledgeable staff and awesome food! I’ve ordered a pizza 2x from here and it is the best GF crust/pizza I’ve had - tastes just like the real thing! They also have a very extensive menu. Ask for Shawn Or Jasmine, they went above and beyond to make sure that every item was truly GF. The GF Pizookie is made on separate pans than the regular ones and they’re very tasty too! We will be going back.
I had a really great burger, they were allergy aware and careful with my food. They have gluten free chocolate chip cookie desserts!!!! With ice cream on top. It was SO good. I could go back every day for that dessert!. I have celiac n did not get sick afterward, so I will be back!! Can’t wait to try the pizza! ETA: have been back many times, gluten free pizza is tasty! Love that they have separate work space for allergies, and I have safely eaten here. Still really enjoying that gluten free cookie! 😋
UPDATE: Returned and was told by the manager that they do not have a separate fryer and they do not recommend anything fried. GAH. I wonder if they had recently changed the oil the last time I ate here.. so upset that I was lied to the first time. Didn’t get anything fried this time and had a small reaction to gluten... Oh my goodness, I had a burger topped with bacon and brisket with BBQ sauce and a side of fries. It was phenomenal. Also had chips and guacamole for an appetizer (separate fryer) and ice cream for dessert! No reaction and I’m very sensitive. Definitely feel safe here after ordering so many different items during rush hour on a Saturday night. Will be back.
We ordered gluten free cheese pizza and a bazookie. But the time we got to the car my two youngest(with Celiacs) were throwing up. I worried that it could be a coincidence so I had them take the urine test the next day to see if they had gluten... sure enough they had enough gluten make the test positive which was equivalent to 1/4 of a piece of bread. That is not cross contamination- that is something gluten in the recipe! Sooo sad because we loved BJ’s
