I'm always happy going to BJ's Brewhouse. I get a pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese, and then the pizookie of course! It's a great place to go with friends because they have so many options even if people don't want pizza. I'm always careful to remind the server that I'm gluten free for a medical reason, but I've never had an issue.
The GF pizza was amazing! Also had a pizookie which was to die for!!! This is my top choice for restaurants in Corpus Christi.
They always take such great care of me when I come here! I eat here A LOT and I think I've only gotten sick once, which is what sometimes happens when you go out to eat at a place like this. This was when they were relatively new though. Ever since I've been back they always make sure everything is safe. Recently the manager gave my fiancé and I free pizookies because it was taking a long time and they wanted to ensure they were prepared safely for us :) the only downside is there is very limited food options if you don't like getting the same thing, but I always get pizza and a pizookie!
My wife has celiac. She made it very clear to the server that she needed her food gluten free. They are VERY slow at this location. Not so good if you have impatient little boys. The first thing to come out was my wife's salad loaded with croutons. The portions were pretty small for the price. The food tasted good once it came out correctly. 2/5 is the max rating I would give this location.
Although I was brought a NON gluten free plate. I made our waiter aware of this, he was very apologetic. Took it back to the kitchen and I was made a new plate. It was AMAZING!!! Delish!!!!!!! I had the balsamic glazed chicken from the gluten free menu!!!!! I will be going back!!
My first experience there was okay due to the waiter's lack of knowledge of the gluten free knowledge. The second time was amazing! the pizza and pizookie were incredible and service was magnificent. My top choice for gluten free food!
Gluten free pizza, gluten free hard cider, gluten free desert!
I've been pleasantly surprised by the options and accommodations here. Their gluten free chicken bacon ranch pizza is actually quite good. They have gf buns for sandwiches and can adjust some appetizers like the spinach and artichoke dip (with veggies). It's a chain, but at least this location has been good and the food was better than expected.
Update.
If we go to eat in, the food is great and I never get sick. If we order takeout, I get sick every single time. I don’t know why they can’t keep the takeout orders on the same level as the in house orders. We just stopped ordering takeout and only dine in if we feel like going there.
The staff are all well informed on GF needs, and will accommodate any changes needed. Friendly staff, delicious food and safe to eat! They even have a GF dessert pizzooki which is good. We frequently go when we just want a meal out.
I don’t necessarily think the “gluten sensitive” options are the safest in general for celiac but I’ve had good luck with the salmon bowl with quinoa rice & cauliflower rice, it’s excellent. Make sure you do baked, not blacked due to cross contact. Anything else I’ve ordered from pizza to burgers I’ve had reactions. So I’ll stick to this one item.
