GF items marked on the menu; a lot of options. I had Shrimp on the Barbie and Caprese salad and thought they were good. My plate came out marked “gluten free “. We got there early, (4:30) and were seated right away. By the time we left (around 6:00), there was a huge wait.
They don't do anything right when it comes to gluten free. That or the waiter was dumb. We ordered a gluten free pizza with feta cheese, spinach and mushrooms. We got a pizzas with tomatoes, spinach and what appeared to be green onions. Would not recommend this place if you have a food allergy.
Be aware, the items marked GF on the menu are “gluten friendly” not gluten free. Luckily I had a lovely waitress who was well informed prior to placing my order. Initially, I had planned on ordering a pizza. The pizza is made in a wood fired oven, so I had requested to have my pizza cooked on a fresh pan inside the oven. It was then she informed me that the GF and non-GF pizza crusts are prepared on the same surface with just being quickly wiped in- between. I ended ordering a fruit and nut salad which was yummy and I didn’t get sick!
I was surprised to find GF marked on the menu, and there are a lot of options. I had snow crab legs and edamame, which seemed like they would be very safe. Also had some of my family’s GF onion rings and jalapeño poppers, and an elderflower mule. Everything was really good and I felt great afterward. I didn’t notice the menus being dirty as another reviewer mentioned.
I ordered the GF blackened tuna bites, they were fantastic, and my entree was the rack of ribs, it comes with mashed potatoes and steamed green beans. It was pretty good. The green beans are pretty bland but other than that, a decent experience. But, with how all over the place the waiter was I couldn’t really ask many questions and service was not the best, it was moderately busy but not like tourist season busy. Over all, I probably won’t come back, limited options and maybe 15 “gluten friendly” options vague details and nothing about how it’s cooked or made with.
They had a pretty good selection of gf items, but the menus were filthy and sticky which grossed me out and made me a little anxious about how much care they would take in the kitchen. I got the prime rib which was just ok. Pretty chewy and not a great flavor which was disappointing. My son got the gf wood fired pizza and devoured it though and said it was delicious. Neither of us got ill and we are both celiac. He is especially sensitive to cross contamination. Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. Really it was just the gross menus that were literally so nasty I didn’t even want the drink menu that was left on the table near my food it looked so bad.
So- food fairly good, what I had wasn’t great. Little pricey and the menus were nasty. The rest of the place looked clean though and staff was super. I will try them again but def not at the top of my list.
Gluten free pizza available and has a decent amount of GF options on their menus. Food was excellent.
GF items are clearly marked on the menu. I had the baked shrimp and crab and it was delicious! Lots of choices to chose from. Didn't ask about cross contamination bc I'm only gluten sensitive.
We went for lunch during Covid. Great outdoor seating. Apparently the GF fryer isn’t operating due to reduction in staff is what we were told. That limited the side options. They do have GF buns. Lots of the food was processed and not fresh (guacamole came from a bag).
Only ever gotten the gluten free pizza, it is good and haven’t gotten sick once.
Great seafood restaurant!! Good for kids.
Although they cannot guarantee cross contamination they do have a dedicated fryer.
I had the GF rock shrimp and crab dip and it was excellent. It was served with homemade tortilla chips that were cooked in a dedicated fryer. I also had the snow crab legs - 3 great size clusters... they were delicious and cooked just right. Service was great and he was very knowledgeable about the selections I was asking about. I will go back. No adverse reactions. GF severe sensitivity.
Spoke with manager and they said nothing is Gluten Free there. They dont have dedicated part of the kitchen they use to prepare anything gf. They said it may be gluten friendly for someone who is intolerant but manager did not recommend a Celiac going there. I was very disappointed because I heard good things but after speaking on the phone was basically told not to come.
My server was very knowledgeable about celiac. However they were clear that the items are gluten free but cooked with gluten containing items, so not celiac friendly. I had the grilled tuna bites (the blackened have gluten) and the grilled portobello with their Gouda mashed potatoes. It was very good and I will go back!
Not a fan of the atmosphere, but the gluten free pizza was good. Quality is what you would expect for the price range and environment.
The Key West Shrimp and crab dip was AWESOME! I love how they denote things as GF on the menu. I had two entrees b/c my first was yucky. I usually don't return things to the kitchen but I was unable to take another bite. Anyway, cannot recommend the rubbed mahi or the shrimp and grits. My wife had the Chef's pasta (with gluten pasta) and she ate it, but was not impressed at all.
Great GF options, marked on menu, as well as GF pizza's. Great service while we sat at the bar too. Currently enjoying delicious GF chocolate torte...recommended by staff as it wasn't on main menu but they were wise to our needs. Great Place!
Their gluten free pizza is great! They were willing to check on gluten free items for me and made sure everything was done. :)
When we first arrived asked about Gluten-Free options and was told there were many. Gluten-free pizza on the menu, but not available. Asked waitress if they could cook a chicken breast in a clean pan and was told no, it was too busy. Waitress was unknowledgeable completely unwilling to make suggestions. The only option available for my nine-year-old daughter was a salad with nothing on it. Basically lettuce on a plate. Not recommended for Celiacs!
Went here for dessert, since no place in town seemed to have a gluten free dessert. I ordered a chocolate meringue pie. Sheer decadence and totally gluten free! This was the only dessert option on the menu for gluten free diners but it was certainly a good one! I'll definitely go back again!
