Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about celiac and guided me to order a burrito bowl with nothing fried. He told me the chef changed gloves and separately prepared my bowl. Food was good. The restaurant is very cool too. I would go back. I am pretty sensitive anymore (didn’t used to be), and I had zero reaction.

There is cross contamination on about 90% of the menu. Some items are maked on the menu as GF, but are not because of cross contamination. Ask a lot of questions! Corn tortilla chips are fried in a shared fryer. The corn tortillas used for the tacos are heated on the same grill the flour tortillas and hamburger buns are heated on. The burritos can be made in a bowl, but about half of them have a fried ingredient. I asked about replacing a fried ingredient with something else and was told I couldn't. Not sure why. The server was nice, but couldn't help me find anything to eat. I ended up eating a chicken taco on a corn tortilla and a side salad. The food was mediocre and I had no reaction after.

No GF menu and no designated grill. Your food can be cooked on the grill with a flour tortilla. Ended up not eating anything since they could not guarantee it wouldn’t get cross contaminated.

My family was driving through Charleston and wanted to stop for a good meal. The app had 3 good reviews, so I risked going(which I only risk eating out a few times a year). The waiter said they were very good with allergies and would make sure my corn taco shells were cooked in a separate pan. While my tacos (1 steak and 1 chicken) we're delicious, I was very sick shortly bafter leaving. I know I can't expect all places to be knowledgeable to feed me, I just wish there were more that could. Long story short, this place was delicious, but too risky for me.

They were knowledgeable about Celiac Disease and gave me suggestions on what would be safe to eat. Waiter made sure to let kitchen staff know to be careful with my meal. It was delicious! I had the pulled pork tacos.

Can make any burrito into a bowl and can have tacos with corn shells. Server was very knowledgeable about celiac and everything came out good. Unfortunately no dedicated fryer so can’t have chips but can have guacamole.

The food here is excellent. I have went here for years and never gotten sick. They even catered our wedding food. Very knowledgeable about allergies and special diets. Highly recommend, especially if you love tacos! :)

No gluten free options for brunch which is served Sunday’s until 3pm.
Warning for all celiacs. I clearly communicated my need to eat gluten free and chose 2 gluten free tacos. however, my chicken taco had multiple flour wontons layered on the bottom. I only found them halfway through eating the taco. the bad part is this taco description never contains wontons. I feel like these were added maliciously. please don't eat here if you or your loved one has allergies!!!
I'm diagnosed with Celiac. The server at Black Sheep was accommodating and assisted me in narrowing options. The menu can be found online and is not the typical Mexican fare. We started with tortilla chips and 3 salsas; a black bean & corn, a pico gallo, and a smokey chipotle one. I had a blackened chicken taco and a smoked salmon one. Both were excellent. My daughter had a side of sweet potato salad-delicious. If I lived here, i would return frequently. The menu uses the gf symbols, but I still needed the servers assistance to narrow down my options.

Waiter/kitchen was very careful to avoid cross contamination.
Yes
This is not safe at all. The chicken wings are marked gf on the menu. I asked if they were fried in a shared fryer and they said yes.

I went here during brunch hours after church. The staff told me they take food allergies very seriously. I told her that I had Celiac, so she made sure everything I ordered did not come in contact with gluten-containing foods. She said almost everything on their menu could be made GF. Great experience, and I will definitely be back.

Food was delicious. Corn tortillas are available for tacos and most of the recipes are gluten free. BEWARE OF WONTONS. I don't know if they use them to support the taco or what, but they placed them on the outside of two of my tacos, inside the wrapper.
I’ve even there twice, spoke to wait staff, ordered gf and both times became sick before even leaving the restaurant.

Brought my gluten free tacos (wrapped in foil) out in flour tortillas.
