Our server “Will” didn’t even know what Celiac Disease was. Poor service, over priced food and drinks. Could be sooo much better. Terrible!

Awesome dinner, lovely views. Gluten free menu items and they accommodated my special requests. Delicious gluten free baked apple with cheesecake inside for dessert. Waitress was awesome too.
Being a holiday weekend, we had family and friends in town. Finding a place with outdoor seating near the water is limiting and we decided to go to Blackwall.
The outside was full so we sat inside, which was fine.
Our server took out drink order and off she went. When the drinks came we ordered appetizers. One of which was the fry flight. A few minutes later she came back to tel us that's we couldn't order the fry flight. The reason we were given was it was too busy in the restaurant and they didn't want the fries to sit too long waiting to be picked up and get cold.
Ummmmmm. There are food runners and they were bustling doing an amazing job. We could order a side of fries, and any sauces, just not the flight.
Sounded strange but we moved on.
I am celiac and was surprised to see a GF flatbread! What a treat! Our server never asked if anyone had any allergies or dietary restrictions. It was listed as GF...so I placed my order.
When the flatbread arrived I knew it wasn't gluten free. I asked our server who said she would check with the chef. Indeed it was NOT GF.
Everyone finished their meals and I went up front to ask for the manager.
Holding a menu in my hand i said "this flatbread isn't gluten free."
"Right", he said.
"But it's listed as gluten free."
"Yea its a misprint."
"Well I'm celiac and I ordered this. Luckily i could tell it wasn't so I sent it back."
"Yea."
"Ok well this is kind of serious for people who are celiac."
"Yea I know."
"Perhaps you should tell your wait staff they should let people know."
He literally rolled his eyes!
He was truly put out and could have cared less. And I was disappointed.
I lived in Annapolis when the original Blackwall Hitch was built. I used to go there to listen to bands and have late night drinks. When I saw they were opening here I wanted to support them.
I've been there a variety of times and being a GF vegetarian I have always been limited. So I mostly go for drinks.
But I'll never be back.
A misprint is one thing. Find a way to fix it. Alert your wait staff to ask people about allergies. Most restaurants do that these days.
If I can't trust that you are serving me something that won't poison me, you don't get my money. Or my friends' money.

Lovely experience. Had the shrimp and grits which were amazing.
Fantastic GF options on their menu. Start with a delicious Maryland Crab soup. Then a HUGE Chesapeake Steamer Boil includes king Crab legs, shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams in a seafood broth with kielbasa new potatoes and corn on the cob. This pot had incredible flavor and cooked to perfection! I'll definitely be back and skip lunch so I have a better shot at finishing.
Yes

All the gluten free items are marked on the menu AND the chef can make adjustments to make other items GF as well. I had the GF Risotto with shrimp and scallops and crab meat on top and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. My Mom and Dad also loved their meals!

I cautiously ordered off the limited GF menu. I had the Maryland Crab Chowdwer and Blackwall Salad, two signature dishes. That was 6 hours ago without incidence. Wait staff should be trained to instil confidence in the GF diner. Their GF chowder is made on site and could become a must have on trips to Rehoboth. I am puzzeled by the '$$$$' rating as on a late Saturday afternoon we ate and drank for under $50.
