I am visiting from Arizona and did eat here two times with no issues, they have a dedicated kitchen. This third time that I ate there, I ordered the chicken soup. And it was contaminated with their matzoh ball. It was like it fell in and they must’ve tried to pull it out quickly. I understand it’s hard to keep things separate, but I did have a reaction later that evening although mild, I will never return here again
Lots of choice. Good service. I had the gluten free French toast with banana and choc. We would have returned had it been closer to our hotel.
The gf bread is amazing. Had the BLT with fries
Decided to give Bloom the benefit of the doubt despite the varied reviews so had breakfast there this morning, ordered what I expected to be gf pancakes from the very sour faced waitress. They were tasteless and had to be covered in syrup to be edible, soon after leaving I realised something was wrong my stomach blew up like a balloon and the food just lay in my stomach, a sure sign for me that gluten had been ingested and sure enough the uncontrollable diarrhoea arrived soon after. Please don’t take the chance on this place like I did it’s just not worth it, totally ruined my last day visiting NYC.
Perfect service, good food. Large gluten fee selection!!
Knowledgeable staff, fluffy pancakes (which is uncommon for gluten free food) and overall great atmosphere. The food is expensive
Not so celiac safe after all. Have eaten here twice without an issue but this past weekend I was sick 30 minutes after walking out the door. I don't think it was from the kitchen but from the waitress. She wasn't very neat when bringing food and drinks to the table, even touching the tip of my fork that I had to clean it before using again. Not worth returning if staff is so sloppy. Sick 2 days now, can't function and don't know when it will end.
Outstanding! Very Celiac friendly staff and menu. Good food!
I love this place and make a point of visiting (sometimes more than once) every time I'm in NY - the staff is super friendly and it's so nice to be able to just eat and order normal food without a million substitutions. Also they have a pickle bar.
I had the gluten free lumberjack breakfast (pancakes)- very tasty!
My husband liked his gf pastrami sandwich.
So nice to be able to have French toast that's gluten free!!!!
Nice little diner, loved the atmosphere. A very substantial gluten free menu card. We had a lovely breakfast here and had no negative reaction to the food at all.
Every time my family and I visit NYC we go here. We end up going almost every day of our visit for one meal or another. They are excellent about cross contamination and have the best GF selection for any time of day. HIGHLY recommend!!!
Ate here almost every morning during my stay! Amazing gluten-free menu. Never got sick. I recommend the BLT or grilled cheese sandwich!
Always reliable- classic NY deli food done gluten free!!! Kido loves the chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast or the burgers w fries on gf bun for lunch or dinner. We always take cheese cake to go.
The best deli I've visited. Extensive gluten free menu.
Went here for breakfast was able to get chocolate chip and banana pancakes they had a huge gluten free menu! Degenerated a do-over.
Great gluten free menu. Food and service were good. Staff knowledgeable.
They have a large gluten free menu with a wide variety of items. Their bread is really good and it's obvious that it toasted on its own as the non-gf toast has grill marks. I had the "Special Rueben". My daughter had eggs, bacon, fries and gf toast. Neither of us had any issues and all of the staff was great about reassuring us that everything was gf without us even asking. Their coleslaw was delicious too.
Best gluten free pancakes I have ever tasted!
Amazing Reuben sandwich...coleslaw was decent...potato salad-not so much...I felt like it was made from leftover potatoes that were intended for hash browns (because it was mushy) with a few red peppers and green onions tossed in...that's okay, the service and the sandwich were definitely worth the stop : )
Yummy. Very celiac friendly.
Good for breakfast..had GF bread for toast. Not sure if it is friendly for celiac but I had no issues after eating there.
Had the ham & cheese omelette with potatoes and GF toast. Excellent! Staff was knowledgeable and kind.
Good was good, but more important, the staff were super knowledgeable and responsive. If they didn't know for sure, they *immediately* went into the kitchen to ask.
Gluten free menu. Don't expect anything special. I wouldn't go there a second time.
Good gluten-free pancakes and waffles, but only until 2pm
Worst gf pancakes. Dirty diner. Don't think about using the bathroom. Sausage was well done yet not cooked through. Would never go back.
I wish I could give this place a higher rating. As far as being gluten free and Celiac safe, I give it 5-stars. Staff was very aware and careful. However, my food was really not good. Got a chicken sandwich with no bun and fries. Don't bother getting the fries. They were not cooked, greasy, really not even edible. The chicken, on the other hand, was totally overcooked and I could only cut through one of the two pieces of chicken they gave me. I gave up on the second piece and went to bed slightly hungry. Maybe ask them what their specialities are before you order. If you're in a pinch, you can feel pretty aafe eating here, but don't expect a gourmet meal if you ordered what I did.
Good old fashioned NY deli but Gluten Free friendly with a gluten free menu.
Had the gluten free pancakes were not very good, hard and dry. Even the home fries were bad. Wasn't worth the 20 minute walk.
Consistently great French toast in a classic ny deli setting.
Was in N.Y. 4 days and ate here 3 times. Excellent food, knowledge staff and great choices.
Lots of GF choices, but frankly unimpressed with the food. GF daughter wanted pancakes ($10), which were good but not the best. And only syrup was packages of Kraft maple syrup with caramel coloring as a main ingredient. Sandwiches in general started at $15, were loaded with meat but not much else. My roast beef was so big I couldn't fit it in my mouth, but was topped with only a thin slice of Swiss cheese, one slice of tomato, and a piece of iceberg lettuce. No mustard available. No pickle, chips, cole slaw, or anything to garnish. It was my most expensive lunch in Manhattan during our entire trip, and my least favorite meal. Can't believe I walked 10 blocks to eat here.
had the triple stack club on GF bread. they use canyon brand. good sandwich lots of turkey and no side effects. will go back while in town.
Extensive gluten-free menu. Dedicated fryer (although it wasn't on the day we were there). Friendly service. Generous portions. Will definitely return!
My daughter had her best and safest GF meal during our whole trip. She LOVED the food. The rest of us enjoyed our non GF meals as well. We're going to get back there before we leave town.
Good solid NYC delicatessen. Server said cooked pancakes in seperate place.
Little diner, quick service, nice GF options!
Great food and selection for gf. Waitress was friendly and helpful. First Reuben I've had in years. Yum!
I went there three times for dinner last week. Large gluten free selection and the best gf burger (with bun) I had so far! Friendly service and they are always careful that everthing is save (separate fryer).
Great gluten free menu- however food and service was terrible!
Huge BLT! I was eating light to save room for a slice of New York Cheesecake😜! The sandwich was great and so big! But the cheesecake was incredible! It was too much to eat and I packed up half of it! It was way too good to leave!
Separate fryer. Everything safe on gluten free menu. Very good diner food.
I am so impress to be able to sit in a deli and have menu like somebody else I had a pastrami sandwich with French fries delicious Looking forward to try many other things
I was near Grand Central and I was looking for some GF options that I hadn't experienced before. Saw the great reviews on Bloom's and went to get a burger. Authentic NYC diner/homemade burger! Delicious! The bun was pretty good, not crumbly like some others. I was looking for a good burger, since Burger Post in NJ closed this summer...and I found it.
Lots of GF options, nice variety of traditional NY deli menu items for breakfast & lunch, would have rated 5 stars if service was slightly more attentive but overall very good experience. Getting a NY Deli sandwich in NYC can't be beat & Blooms is a must if you are in the area!
very good menu options I will come back for the pancakes!
