Blue Sushi Sake Grill

I absolutely love Blue! I stop here anytime I'm in the area. They are very careful and have a gluten sensitive menu. A dedicated sushi maker uses a dedicated station to make the GF sushi and I've never gotten sick. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for with sushi. Every server I've had was familiar with the gluten free options and was very helpful. They no longer print the GF menu but it's online and not hard to find.

good sushi but staff was uncertain if the crab was imitation or not. (They check with kitchen and it’s not imitation). GF was written on my take away food box yet they put 2 different soy sauces in my package with gluten in them.

Such a cool place! The gluten free options are on their online menu. The waiter was super nice and helpful with what to order. And they tell you it’s gluten free when they bring it to the table. Everything was really good and they had great gluten free drink options. I’m really sensitive and didn’t get sick at all! Would go back anytime!

They couldn’t tell us over the phone if the vinegar they use to finish the sushi rice has wheat or not as a lot of vinegars do.

Great food and friendly staff! They don’t have a physical copy of their gluten free menu; it’s online. They’re hoping to have physical copies within the next few days. Food was very good, and they even brought out gluten free soy sauce!

The waiter was very educated on celiac and gluten free options. They provided me with a gf menu and had their own bottle of gf soy sauce. The waiter asked me about cross contamination and was very helpful. Highly recommend this spot!

I had a terrible dining experience here. I called ahead to confirm that they would use clean gloves and clean pans/utensils and they said yes. When we arrived I ordered a gluten free salad and two of the gluten free Cali rolls. I confirmed with the waiter again that they would use clean gloves, clean pans/utensils, and knife/cutting board for the sushi. He then brought out my salad with gluten wontons on top. After I pointed it out he took it back and came back immediately with a salad that didn’t have wontons. At this point, my husband and I said we felt more comfortable just paying the check for what we had received and leaving because I didn’t feel safe to eat anymore. He kept reassuring us and said the manager would watch them make my sushi. We decided to trust him and I started to eat my sushi. Halfway through eating the rolls, I found that the cucumber was black inside the roll. I showed the manager and he was nice about it but I will never eat here again. This means that the manager watched them cut bad cucumber and served it to me. In the end, I had some minor cross contact symptoms but, more importantly, I was lucky that I didn’t eat the bad cucumber or wontons and become severely ill. I don’t trust any of their food procedures for allergies or food safety in general.

This place is excellent if you have food allergy restrictions. They have a separate gluten sensitive menu and the waiter always asks if anyone at the table has allergies.

I love sushi but it’s so hard going out and not getting sick. Here I feel so safe, the staff are knowledgeable about celiac and take the right precautions. It is a bit on the pricey side but the sushi tastes so fresh and is so good
