Waiter very helpful and checked w kitchen on concerns. I am dairy and egg free too plus problems w/ others stuff.. Menu marked as GF so ate Ribeye med rare, w fresh steak sauce and they made the asparagus w/ olive oil (no butter). Couldn't have mashed potatoes, so asked about fries which are made in cross-contamination. So waiter didn't want me to eat them! He brought me a salad instead. I had one of the hard ciders available and asked for ice on the side to dilute any sweetness... Enjoyed everything And did Not get sick. Score.
Great GF supper tonight. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous. My Cobb salad was huge and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Easy to get to. Nice location. Menu is well-labeled with several GF options. Staff is GF and Celiac aware. Chose the walleye which is superb. Service was excellent. A new favorite!
Not sure why others posted that there is a gluten free dedicated fryer because there is not. I’m sitting here right now, and asked the waitress and even called just in case she wasn’t sure. I repeat - no dedicated fryer!
No fries. Hardly any of the sides are gluten free.
Nice to eat outside! Great view.
The staff are knowledgeable about Celiac, and the menu has certain things marked as gluten-free. On top of that, they have a dedicated fryer for French Fries.
The gluten-free bun was excellent. The fries are also extremely good. The portions themselves are on par with the regular items as well.
Overall, this place is really good. I would definitely eat here again whenever I’m in the area.
Food was good. I just felt from the hostess and waitress that my family was a burden to them before we even sat down or spoke about my celiac. The waitress took awhile to mention there was a gluten free menu. I never felt from her that she got the cross contamination awareness, so I spoke to the assistant manager and got reassurance. Maybe for this restaurant that cross contamination procedures are already in place, so it isn’t a big issue...unlike other restaurants. It would had been nice to know that upfront.
I was surprised how many items were on the gf menu. I had the fish tacos and they were delicious- broiled fish, corn tortilla, great salsa and guacamole served with corn chips. My husband had the hamburger with goat cheese served on a gf free bun. He said it was one of the best buns that he had ever had. If I'm ever in the area I would definitely return.
I had the BBQ chicken thai pizza. It was great! the gluten free crust is thin and chewy. The pork on it was tender and lean. I would have it again. Overall the restaurant is pretty nice. Great view, outdoor seating, decent selection on their gluten free menu. Can order a pricey meal, but the pizza and burgers were reasonable.
The view is beautiful but the waiter we had was very disappointing as was the food. I had gf cashew chicken Szechuan stir fry it was so sweet I couldn't eat it. The others in my group were not impressed with their food either. I would not recommend Boatwerks
Nice gluten free menu. Salads. Seafood. Appetizers. Desserts. I got the summer vegetable platter which was totally incredible. So flavorful. I also got the Mexi Dip Platter. The refried black beans are yummy. The guac is amazing. I have celiac and they took great care with my food.
Salads are about the only thing on the menu that can be gluten free but they don't have a dedicated menu. Last time I was there I ordered 2 different salads and both had bugs in them. The lettuce/greens were not properly washed. The staff was very apologetic but the head chef was not.
