It’s always welcome relief when the second you mention gluten free the staff responds with “options with our without cross contamination”.

Yummy food. I love the pabellón but when I mentioned severe allergy (aka celiac), they told me their plantains are fried in the same fryer with gluten containing items which was a major bummer. Food is still really good. I just REALLLLY like plantains
This food delicious!!! Most of the menu is gluten free with the exception of the cheese sticks and hotdog/hamburger buns.
The arepa dough is naturally gluten free and amazing.
They do use a shared fryer but if that isn’t an issue for you, don’t miss the fried empanadas (with no gluten containing ingredients) and fried plantains!
The owner and hostess are both super helpful talking through what is safe. I eat here at least once a week. It’s that good.
Gluten free arepas that tastes great & I felt fine afterwards. Will return next time I’m visiting RVA
