When we stated we had celiac they immediately communicated to each other. Someone came over to take our orders separately. Washed her hands got gloves and separate utensils. It hard to figure out about spices etc. hoping that’s ok. The only concern is when they scoop things onto burritos - hoping they don’t touch. Much better option then the children’s food court across the way!
Must amend my previous positive review after learning the online menu doesn’t list every single allergen! Turns out among other things the Asian slaw has soy sauce in it!! Behind the register they have a more comprehensive allergen listing. I was floored and upset bc I’ve ordered the Asian slaw in dishes before!
I've ate here many times, never had an issue with both my gluten and dairy intolerances. You can inform them of the allergy and they will avoid cross contamination, however, I stopped doing so because I know what I can and cannot eat from their menu and still haven't had any issues
I am so glad I found Boloco as it has become by go to place for a quick breakfast or lunch, when in Boston. The staff largely doesn't know what is GF is and isnt, but they have a whole allergen list that you can look through. The easy thing is to just avoid the flour wraps, their asian inspired sauces and seemingly most everything else is pretty much fine. They also will make your breakfast wrap in a bowl as well. When I would explain that I cannot have gluten, the staff, even if they weren't exactly sure what gluten was, would wash their hands, change their gloves, double check and ask me about each ingredient and have a single person make my bowl. It is basically a Chipotle but with breakfast and some really cool sauces like buffalo and indian inspired tikka masala. All in all, the chance for cross contamination is there, as things could fall into different stations, but the staff seemed to do a good job. I'd recommend their eggs and chorizo bowl for breakfast
Staff is very knowledgable about gluten allergens, any other allergens and celiac friendliness. Along with a verbal call out of a gluten allergy, gloves are changed and the counter is completely wiped down. So thankful for that! Managers are usually right there and aware of it as well. Gluten free wraps not available at the moment but any of the bowls are great! Can sit down and watch outside market street or grab Togo. Great quick spot with wonderful staff!
My wife and I just had our second baby. This is our first since being diagnosed. The food is amazing. Not all of the staff understands what is and what is not gluten free. I had a near miss with the Thai peanut bowl, since the Asian slaw is made with soy sauce with gluten in it. Fortunately one of the managers caught it before I left with my food. Definitely the only thing that kept me going and full. Great job
I came here tonight starving after visiting a very sick family member. I asked if they had gluten free wraps, the guy said no. I asked what their other gf options were and he pointed to the cardboard size examples on the wall and said "containers". Rudest response at a restaurant I've ever had. If I could give it 0 state I would.
Went here for one of their free burrito days, and it's okay. Not as good as Chipotle, and not as many GF options, but still enough that you won't be hungry. They have a list online of what is GF (rice, most of their proteins like chicken, most of the salsas, etc.) and you can also ask the staff.
