Have gluten free options on the menu, but the staff did not know what gluten was (asked me when I asked about gf options) and did not have any protocol to avoid cross-contamination. Had an allergic reaction shortly after eating one of the gf options due to contamination. Steer clear with celiac!

Great food! Smaller portions, but if you’re not starving it’s a good place to go. Only complaint is that my husbands wrap came out about fifteen minutes after my açaí bowl came out, and he was famished so he was getting hangry. Definitely would come here again.

This was literally the best açaí bowl I’ve ever had, and the granola in it is gluten-free anyways! Didn’t even have to ask.

The menu is clearly marked with gluten free options. Specialty coffee beverages are not all gluten free and sometimes staff are uncertain about what is gluten free on the drink menu. At times I have only eaten the food and not had their coffee, and I still experience mild reactions.

Symptomatic Celiac

Review

I called the day before and asked to speak to a manager and asked if they could recommend any items that were least likely to be cross-contaminated as they offer gluten free items on their menu but are not a dedicated restaurant. They said that they did not recommend sandwiches, even on the gluten free bread, as they toast it on the same burner as their regular bread and gluten containing ingredients. They recommended The Bowl Formerly Known As, Whirley Bowl, or the Açaí Breakfast Bowl. They also noted they could wash the pans. When I got there, I followed up and the two team members I spoke to on the phone were working and remembered me; when I confirmed to ask if they could wash the dishes, they went to confirm with the kitchen team that they could do it—they said they could because it was not super busy. I ordered The Bowl Formerly Known As—independent of gluten free, I would give the dish 5 stars. My friend had the pancakes and, while the presentation was beautiful, they looked very heavy/undercooked and my friend was not as excited after a few bites in; this, included with the fact that it is not really safe for celiac, is why I gave it 3 stars. Also, while I did not find that I experienced any noticeable change in symptoms, looking at all the components and the size of the restaurant, it is unlikely they are able to prevent cross contamination as they do have gluten containing ingredients in many of their items, including pastries.
