They had a gluten free menu with lots of choices. No fried food or bread substitutes were available. The server had a GF daughter, and the manager also has celiac. The vegetable sides were somewhat unimpressive. The broccoli was way overcooked and salty. The potatoes were an ice cream cone scoop full, but were tasty enough. The fish was very good, both the mahi mahi and the shrimp. The manager came over to check and shared that she really educates the kitchen on gluten allergies. I felt very safe eating there and had no adverse reaction. I’d go back again and try to pick a different vegetable side. The atmosphere was very nice as well.
Waiter was very responsive regarding our menu questions and even went in to double check with the kitchen staff regarding one of the ingredients in the shaved Brussel sprout salad after it got to the table. He took it very seriously and we felt we were in good hands. A separate GF menu with a lot of options. My daughter has Celiac. We will be back.
I stressed the importance of being gf and having celiac disease. The server said no problem but I really don't think she was paying attention. She was not very personable at all. Food was ok. Unfortunately, I was severely sick within 4 hours. I have never had a problem at any Bonefish before!
Ordered their Brussel and salmon salad to go tonight. The server took my order and verified wheat allergy would be observed. When my husband picked it up, they did kindly verify that it was gluten-free, that they change gloves and take, cross-contamination protocol, seriously. However, the salad was only gluten-free if it did not include the crispy onion straws, and when I opened it when we got home, there were onion straws on it. I called and was refunded in full. The manager was apologetic and the salad is new for the season, but disappointing nonetheless.
