The owner was very knowledgeable about gluten free. We have the duck salad that was delicious. The Tom Yum soup was delicious as well. Felt completely safe and enjoyed our meal.

We ordered take out and not only was every thing really delicious - I didn’t get sick!! My non-gluten sensitive family was just as pleased with the gf options. The staff is also very welcoming and reassuring.

We have been big fans of Thai cuisine for decades and have tried many restaurants in this genre in many cities. Boonsong Thai stands out as one of the best. While many places rely on over-sweetening dishes to hook customers, Boonsong Thai relies confidently on a firm foundation of base flavors that are pungent and complex. From the soups to the shrimp and chicken dishes to the noodles to the salads, Boonsong teases out the rich flavors of core ingredients with expertly employed spices—curries, coconut, peppers, fruit—to create dishes that enchant. They also have proven to be completely reliable in preparing gluten-free versions of their menu items. Throughout the pandemic, we have ordered pickup regularly from Boonsong, driving 25 minutes to get there without a second thought. They never disappoint and the service is always gracious and appreciative.

This place is our go-to for Thai in the area. We trust the owner and the chefs as they are very familiar with celiac, gluten free foods and the safety that comes with it. Lot of GF options on the menu and the food is very tasty. Also want to note that calling in for an order to be picked up for take out is also safe.

We stopped here a year and a half ago while shopping for a new mattress nearby. We were blown away and dream of eating here again. The seafood salad with deep fried watercress was outstanding! We ate one for lunch and ordered another to take home for dinner! They also have several GF duck options. Pad see ewe etc. The first time we ate here we lived an hour away. Now we live 2+hrs away but whenever we fly through Newark we stop by for a meal. They take such good care and double check if you are celiac. So grateful!

The owner who was also our host/server was very sweet and kind. I told him I was allergic to gluten and he explained that he has a daughter who has celiac’s disease and ensured that I was safe to eat here. 5 star rating because he was honest and kind.

I’ve been going to Boonsong for the last 5 years. It’s one of my favorite restaurants near MSU. I usually get calamari, pad thai and/or pad see ew. It’s always fresh, delicious, and I have never gotten sick.

I was so excited to see some dishes made gluten free because I’ve never seen them made gluten free before. But several it seems they made them safe by omitting sauce (Pad Kee Mao & Gai Ma Maung). I assume some others on the menu will be made safe in a similar fashion. If I’m in the area I’d go back for the jungle curry they special made gluten free upon request but not worth a special trip. Food was obviously very safe

This is the only restaurant I've seen that has a sign that says "Celiac Safe." The owner is very knowledgeable and always helps us order if we decide to order different foods. This is our go-to option if we can't figure out where to order food from. I definitely recommend the Pad See Ew.

My favorite GF restaurant around! My boyfriend and I order from here all the time. The owner is very knowledgeable and can make almost anything on the menu gluten free.

Our waiter was awesome! He knew exactly what was gluten free and repeated which dishes were when he brought them out. We had little salads with peanut sauce on them, and those were delicious. The Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Pineapple Fried Rice were all really good, and as a bonus the Pad Thai is always gluten free (the other two can be made gluten free but usually aren’t). Want to go back!

What a wonderful experience! I have severe Celiac and I'm hypersensitive to cross-contamination! This restaurant was simply wonderful the staff are very caring and concerned the owner came over took our order because I was so worried about cross-contamination. The owner's daughter has Celiac so he said he would make sure that nobody would get sick with his daughter having Celiac he really knows what he's doing! There is dedicated kitchen space and even a fryer was able to eat the fried calamari! Most things on the menu can be made gluten-free! The food is wonderful! Best Thai food I've ever had anywhere! The flavors are rich and bold! So many gluten-free options! I cannot say enough good things about this place and the staff and the owner! Prices are also super affordable! They also offer a few choices for gluten-free desserts! Thank you again so much this is one of the best meals we've had in a very long time looking forward to coming back many many many many many many times!

Server was so on top of what I can eat (as am both vegetarian and GF celiac), and pointed each item out. Had the tom kha soup (solid but not amazing), papaya salad (very good!), the fried tofu (tasty, and from a dedicated fryer, but not fancy), and the Laad Na vegetarian (delicious! Should have been asked if I wanted to add tofu). Would definitely return next time we are in NJ.

Our Celiac son, a student at Montclair State, loves Boonsong so the whole family went. The four of us all enjoyed our meals and again, gluten free, safe and no reaction at all. Pad Thai was great, as was a duck dish and Pad See-ew. Good service and reasonable too. We will definitely be back.

Very accomodating and they have very tasty food! Some of the best Pad Thai I've had among other goodies. Gf Calamari is also a treat.

This place is really easy to eat at and when I ordered a dish that they were missing an ingredient to do gluten free they came right back and told me. Also mild really is mild not spicy at all not all places manage that well.

This is the best Thai restaurant I've ever had visited period is a person who eats gluten free food I found the proprietor owner to be very very knowledgeable about preparing Thai food as gluten free. Noon the owner gave a specialized attention to create a menu that was adapted for gluten free.
