First: gluten free options in Destin are not plentiful. After almost 15 years of vacationing here, there’s little change. The gluten free options that do exist (with special menus, treatment etc) are so so. There are great places to eat if you’re willing to do the legwork, but you have to decide your comfort level with this.
With Boshamps the best strategy is to email before and ask what options you have. I received a response within a couple days and just shared the information with my server. I don’t find the servers to be knowledgeable, but when I tell them I emailed the manager about my allergy they are accommodating. I get the Oysters Boshamp (no crackers) and I get the grouper with bacon jam and they sub grits for the feta cheese soufflé that has a bit of flour holding it together. I’ve safely eaten this meal several years of coming here with no reaction.
So no, this isn’t the most knowledgeable place in terms of servers, there is no gluten free menu, but it is my favorite food in Destin.
